Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager

Strong interface with playable combat and good interaction with NPCs. Graphics aren't great, hard-drive requirements are horrendous, and handling objects can be clumsy. If you liked the first Dark Sun game, buy this one immediately.

Wake of the Ravager is an epic game, in the best traditions of AD&D. The combination of excellent gameplay, fine cinematic sequences, and visual and audio effects make it a fine role-playing game.

Zwischen viel Gekämpfe und Dialog-Blabla kommen Motivation und Faszination etwas zu kurz. Wer noch nie im Leben ein Rollenspiel angefaßt hat, wird sich ohnehin schwer tun. Immerhin: Kenner der Materie bekommen ein weiteres Scheibchen aus einer anspruchsvollen Fantasywelt serviert - ebenso solide und unspektakulär wie der altersschwache Golf unserer Schlußredakteurin!

Wider Erwarten ist Dark Sun 2 seinem gelungenen Vorgänger in vielen Belangen unterlegen. Das Scrolling ist alles andere als ruckelfrei, und besonders die vorherrschende Farbarmut entzieht dem Spiel eine Menge Atmospähre. Richtig zu schaffen macht dem Spiel aber die langweilige und zähe Story, die im ersten Teil noch an den Bildschirm fesseln konnte.

To be honest, I was very impressed with this game and those of you who enjoyed the original Dark Sun will certainly appreciate the sequel. This is a game with a lot to offer the role playing fan or anybody who wants to have a look at a good, well planned RPG. Dark Sun II has a slightly different interface to other SSI games and it is a little buggy, but is guaranteed to give you an enthralling game, and take up lots of your time.

Wake of the Ravager är inte direkt dåligt, det är bara inget särskilt med det. Det inordnar sig snällt och lydigt i den till synes ändlösa raden av produkter som kommer att bli bortglömda lika snabbt som de dök upp. Ungefär som såpoperor och kioskdeckare. Har man sett en har man sett alla. Gäsp.
