Grafiken är vacker, men bäst är det underbara ljudet. Ambientmusik och mystska ljud gör att atmosfären blir perfekt. Robert Patrick (T1000 i T2) gör rösten till huvudpersonen. Ingen äventyrsspelare får missa The Dig.

Un claro exponente de historia que casi podría igualarse con aquella ciencia ficción mágica y soñadora que Ray Bradbury con sus Crónicas Marcianas o Frank Herbert con Dune nos regalaron en la edad de plata del género literario, pero envuelta por un apartado gráfico y sonoro que no flaquea ante la calidad del guión y que te transportará directa e irremisiblemente hasta Cocytus.

The Dig est donc l’un des meilleurs jeux d’aventure qui ai existé à ce jour, un scénario très intéressant et une réalisation globalement très réussie, en font un titre très réussi. Bien que dépasser graphiquement aujourd’hui. Il reste très agréable à jouer et immersif.

With filmmaker Steven Spielberg behind the original concept, LucasArts's latest game, The Dig, promises an epic adventure with an extraordinary journey into the unknown, where three astronauts struggle for survival on a stranded alien world. The game actually begins some time before they reach the nearly deserted planet, and here is in a few words, the series of events that happened prior to the arrival of the astronauts on the planet Cocytus.

Lucasart et Spielberg, l'affiche a de quoi séduire, mais hélas, le résultat est plutôt décevant. Certes, le scénario est vraiment intéressant mais desservi par une réalisation tout à fait médiocre.

Das Spiel hat das Zeug zum Klassiker und wird sicherlich ein längeres Leben haben als die zahlreichen multimedial aufgeblähten Nichtigkeiten, die nach wie vor den Markt überschwemmen.

Good story line, challenging puzzles and satisfying gameplay. It's a slow starter. Some puzzles are too vague at the beginning. The Dig is yet another fun and rewarding adventure game from the masters of the genre.

Durch seine stimmungsvolle Story und die zahlreichen Rätsel gelingt es 'The Dig' schnell den Spieler in seinen Bann zu ziehen und bis zur Rückkehr zur Erde und der Rettung der Aliens nicht mehr loszulassen. Leider ist das Ende etwas zu rührselig und kitschig geworden. Dennoch ist LucasArts mit 'The Dig' ein weiteres Meisterwerk in seiner großen Adventuregeschichte gelungen.

Echte Innovationen fallen aus, doch unterm Strich ist The Dig ein sehr gutes SF-Adventure. Kein "Interactive Movie"-Schnickschnack, sondern solide Hausmannskost. LucasArts bedient seine alten Abenteuer-Fans äußerst kompetent: Genau das richtige Spiel für einen kuscheligen Winterabend im Lichterschein des VGA-Monitors.

Die Puzzles sind logisch und fair, ohne jedoch den versierten Spieler zu unterfordern. Adventure-Profis werden sich lediglich an der fast schon kindgerechten Bedienung stoßen, hier sollte sich Lucasarts auf vergangene Zeiten zurückbesinnen. Konntet Ihr Euch also schon immer für gut gemachte Grafikadventures begeistern, ist "The Dig" genau Eure Kragenweite.

El canto de cisne del 320x200, The Dig sigue siendo uno de los juegos más originales de ciencia ficción que existen, tanto por ser una rareza dentro del catálogo de Lucasarts como por la forma en la que trata la historia. Existen pocos juegos de ciencia ficción "dura", y muchos menos que traten de la progresiva toma de contacto con la realidad de un grupo de personas al verse náufragos en un mundo extraño, y las neuronas que hacen mover los puzzles se complementan bastante bien con esta originalidad.

If you can overlook the flaws and fill in the obvious holes, you'll unearth an above-average adventure that, while not a must-play, still solidly entertains.

Die düstere Atmosphäre der fremden Welt bei The Dig zieht mich unweigerlich in ihren Bann. Die pixelige VGA-Optik mag zwar verwöhnte Augen anno ’98 abschrecken. Dafür überzeugen mich die hervorragend erzählte, filmreife Geschichte und der stimmungsvolle Soundtrack. Leider ist das Vergnügen relativ schnell vorbei – die Rätsel sind oft allzu gradlinig und offensichtlich.

Het eindoordeel is eerder negatief. Als je enkele uren met dit spel bezig bent is alles nog knap en tof, maar als je er al enkele dagen mee bezig bent zonder een stap verder te geraken, zal je ofwel naar de oplossing grijpen, ergens achteraan dit onvolprezen tijdschrift, of je zal het spel gewoon in de kast steken om er waarschijnlijk nooit meer naar om te kijken.

Unter der spröden Oberfläche verbirgt The Dig also wenig mehr als den üblichen Adventure-Standard, von Geniestreichen wie "Indy IV" oder "Day of the Tentacle" ist das Spiel doch einige Schaufelwürfe entfernt.

The Dig is a well thought out sci-fi adventure game with an interesting story and strong characters. Yet, it falls short of the mark with its poor dialogue, lack of immersive elements, and less than compelling puzzles. Given LucasArts’ impressive history as a game developer, as well as with all the years that went into producing The Dig and all the talented names attached to this project, I wish that the game could have been so much more.

This game is horrible, move on. Ok, seriously: If you don't mind the stupid plot, can stand the (vomit- or laughter-inducing, depending on your mood) dialogue, and if you're also not totally against this kind of abstract puzzle, The Dig could keep you entertained quite well. If, on the other hand, you're into classic point & click Adventures, don't waste your time.

God help me for saying anything negative about Steven Spielberg, but this latest adventure from LucasArts that proudly bears his name is one of the most disappointing games I've ever played.
