Pelin kynnys on matala ja alussa pelaaja voi kierrättää omaan tahtiin hahmoaan kylässä tutustuen kylän asukkeihin.

Een geweldig spel, vooral omdat de speler zelf kan bepalen waar hij/zij begint met het redden van Tirich. je zit niet vast aan een door de makers uitgestippelde route. Dat geeft een groot gevoel van vrijheid en komt de realiteit van het spel ten goede.

If you like both adventure and action games, Ecstatica is what you need. A perfect balance of action and adventure that will bring you to a world of phantasmagoria and terror. When you start the game, you can choose to be a man or a woman playing the role of a knight in the Middle Ages. On your way, you discover a village that seems to be uninhabited at first, however, you soon notice that this is not the case. Monsters and other creatures determined to exterminate you appear at every corner of the little town.

Psygnosis can be proud of what it's achieved, because Ecstatica is undoubtedly one of the most important CD-ROM games ever released. It's been well worth the wait and our advice to anyone who's into D&D action adventures is to get Ecstatica at the top of that list you're sending to Santa. If Santa fails you, however, keep an eye on Psygnosis, because odds are on that its next one will be even better.

Die ultradichte Atmosphäre dieser Echtzeit-Schauermär bannt den Spieler mit über 200 animierten Zwischensequenzen vor den Rechner, wo er sich über eine tadellose Steuerung freuen darf - nur bei extrem ungünstigen Sichtwinkeln zieht man auch mal unschuldig den kürzeren.

If vulgarity and nudity don't offend you and you enjoyed Alone in the Dark, Ecstatica will thrill you. I would give this game the highest mark, but knowing that not everyone will like it as much as I did, I forced myself to lower the mark by one. Better try this one for yourself!

Spelet är som sagt för linjärt och borde kunna ha en bättre historia. Men även om de har misslyckats på den punkten är grafik och ljud genialt.

Ist Ecstatica nun ein gelungenes Spiel oder Mist? Denn die gewöhnungsbedürftige Steuerung und der hohe Schwierigkeitsgrad können schon für Frustmomente sorgen. Dafür bietet das Spiel aber eine ganz eigene, sehr gelungene Atmosphäre, die gruselig, bizarr und lustig zu gleich ist. Den Spagat zwischen Grusel und Comedy schafft das Spiel sehr gut und so wirkt das ganze auch nie lächerlich. Kann man über die gewöhnungsbedürftige Grafik hinwegsehen, wird man ein herausforderndes Spiel vorfinden, bei dem sich das mehrfache Durchspielen auf jeden Fall lohnt.

Ecstatica is an action/adventure game set in an unusual ellipsoid 3D world drawn with an unique graphic engine. It uses multiple camera angles in real time to sport a movie like quality in both gameplay and animations. This is not a game for the faint of hearts, for the game brings violence and vulgarity to an adventure game to the next level.
