In the village (next to the police officer) there is a statue of a monster from Doom, left-click on it, watch Paul Cole draw a shotgun and see what happens.

The hero looks suspiciously like Guybrush Threepwood from Monkey Island 2 - and the game even begins with him hanging from a rope! But don't be put off. The creators have done a fine job, and have even made some technical improvements to the SCUMM engine of the time - the zoom-in feature is a nice touch, a poor-man's full screen animation which even works on a slow 386!
