Summary

Not as charming as Tetris or even Welltris

The Good

The novelty of the assembling faces, the period music and backdrops for each "level". The multi-player component (features penalties!)

The Bad

The somewhat "unclear" concept of assembling the faces: it's not QUITE as intuitive as fitting blocks together like Tetris or Welltris.

The Bottom Line

Faces is the 3rd Pajitnov game published by Spectrum HoloByte, but it does not quite have the charm of the original Tetris. While the falling blocks idea is familiar, the "rotate" and pieces are not as intuitive as fitting shapes of blocks together. The result is a game that take a bit longer to learn, and is not quite as charming as the original.
