Como o Heretic que o precedeu, Hexen é muito superior aos similares estilo Doom. Na verdade, nenhum jogo derivado de Doom chegou a este nível. Ele praticamente ultrapassou as limitações de um jogo em 3D, tornando-se algo único e independente.

Hexen - the Doom-with-a-beard game - has proved relatively popular with both trigger-happy Doomites and RPG saddoes alike. Here we have a new set of well-designed levels which are considerably trickier than the first (which, let's face it, were more than tricky enough). If you've already got the original then there's not enough here to justify a purchase - unless of course you really really loved it, or you won the Lottery last week. The rest of us can get our Doom fixes elsewhere (ie Duke Nukem 3D) or patiently await the arrival of the drool-inducing, spooge-swelling, whisper-its-name-in-awe Quake. Mind you, I'd rather play this than that bloody Heretic update.

Die Gewohnheitstiere unter Ihnen dürfen sich freuen: Bei diesem Add-On müssen SIe sich kaum auf Veränderungen einstellen. Das bedeutet allerdings nicht zwangsläufig etwas Schlechtes, da das Originalspiel durchaus ordentlich war.
