Just Adventure
Overall, The Island of Dr. Brain is one of the few "educational" adventure games that I have enjoyed. For any adventurer looking for a mental marathon or a parent looking for a good educational title for their child, The Island of Dr. Brain scores--big time.

Abandonia
The graphics are good looking and it's full of easter eggs (click on everything you see). There is even a little speech and you can choose between Adlib, General MIDI and PC Speaker music. This is a good game, but unfortunately it's a lot easier than it's predecessor, The Castle of Dr. Brain. I urge you to try some (or all) of the puzzles on the expert level. They're much harder then.

The Good Old Days
Anyway the puzzles, the meat of the game, keep the variety they had on the first game and so most of them are interesting, even if a bunch are too easy. Like the one of separating microscopic animals with two functions, that one looks mathematical but really is solved in a moment looking at how the lines move when changing numbers. Really more than a bunch of them are too easy, you won't have a reason for using the hints even in hard mode, which really can make the situation worse as to make some puzzles harder they just added so many pieces that it becomes monotonous.
