Do you know the cheat code "doom"? That cheat code gives you stronger enemies. Interestingly, this is a reference to the 1993 game, "DOOM" by id Software. Id might have tried to sue Epic.

One of the game's weapons is the LFG-2000, which is obviously a spoof of Doom's BFG-9000 weapon. Little Freakin' Gun?

If you play the game during the Christmas period (September to early January) the game gets a Christmas theme, with snowflakes falling on the main menu and several new backgrounds.

A stand alone episode for Jazz Jackrabbit called "Jazz Jackrabbit X-mas Edition" (also known as "Jazz Jackrabbit Holiday Hare 1995") was released as public domain, hence it is freely available for download on numerous shareware/freeware gaming sites.
