J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, Vol. I

W czasie wędrówki doskwiera brak muzyki i nieco spartańska oprawa dźwiękowa. Cóż, im bardziej rozbudowana gra, tym mniej efektów specjalnych (tylko na trzech dyskach). Musicie uwierzyć mi na słowo, że jest co zwiedzać, jest także niezliczona liczba postaci, z którymi można rozmawiać, przyjmować je do Drużyny Pierścienia, czasami kilka słów wystarczy, żeby pojawiło się nowe zadanie, które trzeba wykonać, by uzyskać jakiś przydatny przedmiot, czy czar.

Remember to save often in the game, but beware while doing so. The game can only support two different savegames at one time. This is the biggest drawback the game has. Had it not been for this inability to save often and using a lot of different save-games the game would easily have achieved a maximum score, but because of this the game receives only a total of 4. Nevertheless this is a game that I would definitely recommend!

Der Herr der Ringe war (und ist) eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsbücher (12mal gelesen). Interplay ist es zumindest teilweise gelungen, die tolle Atmosphäre des Buches einzufangen. Laufend trifft man auf alte Bekannte und untersucht Orte, die man aus dem Buch kennt. Nachteil der Sache: Wenn jemand den Roman nicht kennt, verliert das Computerspiel viel von seinem Reiz. Außerdem läßt Lord of the Rings spielerisch etwas zu wünschen übrig. So geht ein großer Teil der Zeit fürs Herumlaufen im Auenland drauf. So dürften nur absolut eingefleischte Tolkien-Fans ihre Freude an diesem Programm haben.
