Description

A mouse-only game for DOS, Klondike Solitaire is a simulation of its namesake. Using the mouse to click cards, you move cards of alternate suits onto each other in an effort to move them off the tableau. Cheating is technically allowed, but doing so will get you "yelled at" by the program.

Trivia

Release

Klondike Solitaire came bundled with the PCjr mouse and mouse driver package from Microsoft (known as the PCjr Booster pack) to promote mouse usage on the PC in general. The bundle also included well documented BASIC source code for the game, presumably to promote more software written that supported the mouse.

The mouse driver that came with the bundle is called "MSMOUSE.COM" but an examination of the binary reveals a tiny message that says:

"This is not a copyright 1983 Microsoft but in fact Copyright 1984 Mouse Systems Corporation!"
