If was to say Hand of Fate is best game ever created, I would probably be wrong (taking into account other great titles like Quest for Glory 1, Dragonsphere, and so on). That's why I'm going to say it like this: Hand of Fate is one of the best games ever created. This excellent game is the sequel to Legend of Kyrandia 1, and the predecessor of Malcom's revenge. In my opinion, HoF is the best game in the series, although I only played a small part of Legend of Kyrandia 1.

Spelet är fullt av lysande popkulturella referenser, bland annat en kul referens till Marilyn Monroe. Spelets tuffa hjältinna är dessutom ett fint slag för jämlikheten i spel.

The acclaimed sequel to Legend Of Kyrandia, this is an entertaining and challenging point-and-click adventure beautifully illustrated and slick in its design. Probably the best of the instalments in the Kyrandia trilogy.

Westwood Studios hat in diesem Sequel zu The Legend of Kyrandia einen mutigen Schritt gemacht. Und soviel sei bereits gesagt: Zanthia the Mystic ist eines der bezauberndsten und liebenswertesten Geschöpfe, die je in einem Abenteuerspiel zu sehen waren. Dies ist sicherlich auch das erste Abenteuerspiel in dem sich die Hauptperson für jede neue Szene umzieht.

Spelet är underhållande och håller en fin balans mellan svårt och lagomt svårt. Oroa dig inte, det blir inte svårare allteftersom spelet går. Den rikliga variationen på karaktärer, dialoger och miljöer är vad som får det här spelet att fungera.

All in all, The Legend of Kyrandia: Hand of Fate is a worthy successor to the original and proves itself an enjoyable adventure to any fan of Sierra or LucasArts-style point & click adventures. It doesn't succumb to the black hole of mediocrity or derivative cloning that so many sequels do, and manages to eclipse its predecessor in numerous ways. Fans of the first game will surely find much to enjoy here despite the differences, but because they're connected only loosely, experience with the first game is not a requirement. Hand of Fate is well worth buying even today, though it may require seeking out a used version on eBay or at a rummage sale. But it's a hunt that won't be regretted.

Conservando un atractivo de colores pastel y música sin digitalizar rodeados de muchos detalles, Hand of Fate es un producto de su tiempo: sabe cómo entretener al jugador, sabe qué recompensas darle, sabe qué limitaciones tiene y cómo ocultarlas. Resulta entretenido desde el principio hasta el final, parece falto de ambiciones y al final consigue hacerte desconectar del mundo exterior durante un rato para ambientarte en un mundo fantástico casi veraniego. Creo que son virtudes que se infravaloran, ahora que se juzgan los videojuegos por las horas o la rejugabilidad en vez de por su diversión, y por ello lo recomiendo. Con algo de entusiasmo, incluso.

Zanthia's journey in Hand of Fate might be longer than Brandon's in Kyrandia I, but it's not too long, and time passes quickly when you're having fun. I really enjoyed the 12 or so hours I spent replaying this one. I remembered some of the puzzle solutions but some still stumped me the second time around. There's a sense of fun throughout the game but remember to save often because Zanthia can die if you really try hard to get rid of her. Her antics will give you some laughs so you'll want to risk life and limb and try everything anyway.

Die Abenteuer der Zanthia sind interessant und witzig, aber viel zu schnell vorbei. Schon nach wenigen Spielstunden haben Sie Kyrandia gerettet. Der oft skurrile Humor, die unkomplizierte Steuerung und die (für ein Adventure) relativ neue Idee mit den Zaubertränken heben Hand of Fate vom Adventure-Durchschnitt ab. Technisch ist Kyrandia 2 inzwischen leicht angegraut und deshalb besonders für Besitzer schwächerer Rechner empfehlenswert.

Overall, Hand of Fate is humorous, moderate-level adventure game. Much of what was wrong with Kyrandia has been cleaned up, although Westwood's technique still needs a little more polish (and a few less red herrings). Anyone looking for a short-term adventure workout is likely to enjoy this one.

On the whole, Hand of Fate is a nice Adventure for beginners. It's easy to solve, there are no brain-killers. The graphics also have improved very much. And even the plot (while still far from good) is not that stereotype anymore. But just don't expect Lucas Arts quality...
