Lost is a single-player, shareware, 3D maze exploration game. In the shareware version of the game there is a single maze to be explored, in the registered version there are five. In each game the player must find and collect five gold coins on each level in order to leave the maze and progress to the next level. In the final level there's also an energy crystal to be found.

The game has basic sound effects, bangs and bleeps when the player finds a coin or runs into a wall, and is played with either the keyboard, mouse, or joystick.

Lost DOS The game does have a save/load function. The player must name the save game themselves, spaces are not allowed, which means there's an almost unlimited number of saves possible
Lost DOS The green/yellow band is a panel on the wall.
Pressing A Activates objects, in this case reading the notice
Lost DOS This is what the game is about, finding gold coins and there's one up ahead
Lost DOS Close up the gold coins are square.
This shows the secondary cursor being used to look at the object being picked up

Documentation error

The documentation says the game requires "about 200,000K of free hard drive space". This is probably an error as the shareware version occupies just 139KB.
