When I first ran into Machiavelli, I experienced a startling lurch of deja-vu. Sure enough, this is the same game as Merchant Prince, published last year by QQP. Evidently, there was some sort of falling-out between QQP and H.D.I. (then going by the unfortunate name "Holistic Dudes"), and the original game was yanked from distribution. (--William R. Trotter)

Auf der anderen Seite handelt es sich bei Machiavelli um ein solides Programm, das dem Spieler viele langweilige Standardübungen abnimmt. Wie so oft, gewinnt der Handel bei menschlichen Kontrahenten deutlich an Spaß. Fans von "Hanse" können fast unbesehen zugreifen, allen anderen aber sei ausgiebiges Probespielen empfohlen.
