MTV's Club Dead

Det är förvisso snyggt men mycket underligt. Detaljrikedomen är hög och mycket arbete har lagts ner på små detaljer.

The story unfolds (somewhat) in confusing, none-too-colorful clips of full-motion video, but all the computer-generated graphics are renderific. It's an intentionally weird platter of scrambled megs, but it may or may not be your kind of weird. This is your Myst on drugs. Any questions?

Set to an industrial-rock soundtrack, the game makes you try to suss out why the club's hipster denizens are dying left and right...but it ends up being even more pointless than it sounds. Maybe the folks who brought us Kennedy should learn to leave the thinking to someone else.

Did you enjoy The Journeyman Project 2 but wish that the play window had been half the size and that the interface had been even more complicated? Do you love Full Motion Video games but find the acting insufficiently cheesy and wish someone could make the graphics themselves even blurrier and more pixellated? Does your idea of supreme adventure game design include constant danger from unexpected death and not having the reason for that death explained until after your demise… if at all? Is your favorite music CD your bootleg copy of Kraftwerk, Nine Inch Nails and Eminem getting together to strangle cats for a couple of hours? If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, then Club Dead just may be the game for you. Then again, if you answered “yes” to all of those questions, you are probably sitting in the corner of a padded cell drooling happily while someone reads this to you.

Bevorzugen Sie dagegen gepflegte Adventure-Kost mit logischen Puzzles, sollten Sie Club Dead meiden wie der Leibhaftige das Weihwasser. Das ganze ist dermaßen sinnverwirrend und konfus, daß mit gesundem Menschenverstand kein Cyber-Topf zu gewinnen ist - lustloses Ausprobieren ist Trumpf.
