I don't think very many people are aware of the fact that you can bargain with many of the sellers and shop keepers for a lower price. If you are starting this game without an imported character, bargaining is the only way to get certain very useful items in the game without paying a fortune. Just type "bargain for" and the name of the item you're trying to get.
