Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness

Shadow of Darkness är inte på något sätt revolutionerande; grafiken, musiken och ljudeffekterna håller normalklass. Men spelet har å andra sidan en kul, småironisk ton som jag gillar - och det bjuder tveklöst på många timmars bra underhållning för pengarna.

As a character-driven mystery game, Shadows of Darkness is unique in the Quest for Glory series and arguably its most accomplished title. It is still an RPG as much as its predecessors, but the increased focus on drama, characters and puzzles make it a much more complete adventure game.

The Quest for Glory series is among my favorite adventure game series ever. It combines the great fun and imagination of classic role-playing games with the skill and thinking of classic adventure games. This, plus the simple but enticing idea of becoming the hero of a town and rescuing it from evil, makes the game compelling. This fourth installment of the series, Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness (also known as Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness), continues in the grand tradition of its predecessors with even better graphics. Unfortunately, the game is hampered by bugs that turn it instead into a mediocre sequel in the end.
