WOW… How can I even start to describe this game? Well to be honest, I can’t. At least not just by playing it. To tell the truth I had to look around the net for various other reviews for this game. I needed to see if they managed to catch the magnificence of Little Big Adventure in their review, but no-one had even come close to give the game its justified glory. And I can understand why. This game is without a moment of doubt the BEST game to ever be released in 1994!

In these days of big names and overhyped games, it is such a relief to find a game that does not oversell itself. This game, while relatively unknown to the average gamer, without a doubt deserves a second look. It has made its way onto my top ten list of all time, and I don't think that I am the only one that would be so generous to it. Never before have I seen a game like this, but I hope to see one like it again soon. Apparently, the team at Adeline Software is back to work on a sequel, and if it is as ahead of its time as the original, we have got a treat in store for us. In the meantime, grab a copy of Relentless and fall in love again.

Adventure Europe
The original Little Big Adventure/Relentless was launched in 1994 for PC, hitting the market with more than 400 000 copies sold worldwide and a record 'penetration rate' of 12% for PC CD-ROMS (12% of computer owners with a CD-ROM drive bought Little Big Adventure within the first two months after its release). The game was created by Adeline Software International and released in Europe by Electronic Arts and in the USA by Activision.

All Game Guide
As you wander the world of Twinsun, you'll encounter four species. Twinsen's race, Quetches (ponytails), elephant-like Grobos, Rabibunnies (tall rabbits) and Spheros (small and rotund). None are basically helpful in resisting the clones but you'll need to figure out which ones to trust in order to get information. They normally come in two flavors: nasty or nice. Relentless is a solid game due in no small part to the storyline, the surreal and intriguing environment and a competent AI that is not always predictable when structuring interactive character responses to Twinsen's actions.

Adventure Classic Gaming
The origin of Relentless: Twinsen’s Adventure owes much to Alone in the Dark. This is because Frederik Raynal, Serge Pagnol, and Didier Chamfray, the creators of this game, are responsible for creating the original Alone in The Dark title. Otherwise, there is little else of resemblance between these games, including a distinct European favor found in the former that is not found in the latter. The reason is that the developer of this title, Adeline Software, is a company based in France. Relentless: Twinsen’s Adventure is its first attempt to develop an adventure title that is of this magnitude.

There's still a marvellous game in there somewhere, but only those with the patience of St Neville (patron saint of Persevering with Things Long After You Should Have Given Up) have a hope of making it out alive. As Bobby Smith also said, "It feel like a hundred years." Quite.
