Computer Gaming World (CGW)
Maybe, considering the stellar reputation of EA Sports, I expected a little too much from RUGBY, especially considering their runaway success with FIFA SOCCER. Don't get me wrong – rugby is a fun sport to play. Unfortunately it's not nearly as much fun to watch or simulate. If you're a huge fan of rugby, or just have an idle curiosity in the “gentleman's” sport, you'll dig this game. Minor bugs and oversights aside, there's nothing really wrong with it. It just lacks that certain something that grabs you by the jock strap and keeps you glued to the monitor for hours at a time. I suspect that's just the nature of the sport (or my Americanized view of it), but playing RUGBY is loosely analogous to a trip to England: neat place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
