Description

Rules of Engagement 2 is a mouse-driven starship command simulation in which the player assigns ships and captains to task forces under his/her command, while maintaining direct control of a flagship. The user interface is something like a functional version of the LCARS system from the TV show Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The game is also part of the IGS (Interlocking Game System) and compatible with Breach 2, allowing the player to command the troops via that game (e.g. when boarding an enemy ship).

A full campaign editor is included with the game, making it possible to create missions and campaigns and even share them with others.

The Wandering Robot

Omnitrend's Universe 3 featured a character called "The Wandering Robot", that was the LOST IN SPACE ROBOT turned space-legend. The Robot became a running Easter-Egg gag in the games Breach 2, Rules of Engagement and Rules of Engagement 2.

Tuoles Laicr'mok

The planet Tuoles Laicr'mok is a gag name, being "Commercial Sellout" backwards.

Universe

All of Omnitrend's games except for the Paladin series take place in the same fictional universe, and there are historical and character crossovers.
