MI, a real phoenix

It seems hell is frozen (yet again). Lucas Arts said they are not going to make any adventure games anymore, but I think this is kind a good move, especially when there is all new MI game/series coming out in this summer. Thumbs up every one!

User AvatarA spot on overview of the situation surrounding the phoenix of LucasArts over at RPS.

I agree with it wholeheartedly. It's not about making a quick buck out of a nostalgia of a long-term fans, the production values and risks are too big for that. It's about cautiously testing the waters, trying to figure out if there is an audience for a classy LucasArts.

Personally, having seen more both of remake and the new Telltale series. I can say that I am now moderately excited about either. I don't think Tales would top the W&G, the last is too classy for the MI brand of humor. As for remake, I am torn apart between "Oh, god! They're so faithful!" and "Eh... So, nothing new?". Personally I can't tell much difference from the new supposedly HD screens and the old ones. The mood, style is exactly the same.

Nevertheless, I am super-hyped with the direction LucasArts is facing. The first step was made, I hope there will be more.

User AvatarI remember when they made first step some years ago and then cancelled everything. They'd better not pull one of those tricks again!
