Summary
More fun online than not
The Good
I use to play this game all the time via The Sierra Network (aka TSN) in it's original version. If I recall this single player version came out after the online version was so successful.
The Bad
Another reviewer has mentioned substandard sound quality and some bad animations. It's been over 10 yrs since I've played it and I can't remember these minor details.
The Bottom Line
If you had played this online, you were really ahead of your time as network games weren't not common, nor well known.
I kind of miss the online society this game created for me as an older teenager, where I could go online and chat with other gamers. This was almost a decade before the invention of IM and years before I had ever heard of IRC.
In order to play this game on TSN you had to pay $13 for 30 hours, and not during primetime hours. Since it took awhile to traverse the world map on my 2400 baud modem, chat with users and get a party together to play in the dungeon, I would only log on every other day and play 2hrs, as about 30mins would get wasted getting ready to game, so a daily 1hr spurt was a waste.
Seeing screenshots brings back many memories but honestly I never played this game very deeply to comment on it's quality.
