Med den sublime humor, den stemningsfyldte musik og den meget flotte grafik er Spud! et absolut MUST for spillere, der kan lide interaktive spil af høj kvalitet.

Für Fans anspruchsvoller Knobel-Adventures ist Spud definitiv zu einfach. Wenn Sie ein skuriles Adventure für Zwischendurch haben möchten, sollten Sie besser die deutsche Version abwarten, bevor Sie mit der englischen frustrieren.

Anscheinend war man sich bei Alternative Software nicht ganz schlüssig, für wen man Spud eigentlich entwickeln will. Auf den ersten Blick sieht es wie ein typisches Kinderprogramm aus, enthält jedoch Szenen, die ich aufgrund ihrer Brutalität meinen Söhnen nicht vorsetzen würde. Für ausgewachsene Abenteurer ist Spud jedoch zu einfach und auch zu albern. So fragt man sich, wer Spud überhaupt spielen soll?!

Spud is a mildly entertaining diversion especially if the thought of tackling The Quivering seems too daunting a task. It is fairly 'basic' and it would probably have been basic at the time of its release when you think of some of its contemporaries such as Terry Pratchett's Discworld or Woodruff and Schnibble, but it does have its own brand of humour and it was made by a much smaller development team. It's also interesting from a historical perspective to see how the developers built upon it to produce the more substantial and ultimately more satisfying tale of The Quivering.

As it stands, Spud's a decent adventure with some really lame humor. With so many better adventure games out there, this one belongs in the bargain bin.
