Superhero League of Hoboken

Det har börjat ömma och göra ont både här och där på senare tid - och då menar jag inte i mushanden och skrattmusklerna. Jag tror faktiskt inte att jag suttit fastnaglad framför skärmen på det här viset sedan Infocom-spelens tid. Det är vansinnigt kul.

I wasn't sure what to expect going in, as games that try to be this overtly screwball usually fail at the attempt. Instead, SLH manages to not only be an excellent game, but a legitimately witty and pretty hilarious story as well. It combines genres skillfully, is challenging without being frustrating, and its incredibly dated jokes completely reward those who get the references. On your way, Crimson Tape! Hoboken needs you!

Good, solid gameplay with a high level of difficulty and plenty of humor. Mediocre graphics and sound; movement can become irritating during exploration. An exciting mix of adventure and roleplaying; perfect for the gamer who's more concerned with gameplay than graphics.

The game is quite fun and easy to play. Graphics look alright, but they are nothing spectacular. As for sound... I didn't hear any, but the game is still enjoyable. All in all the game is well-balanced. The bad guys are not too tough, and with a little training and some usage of superpowers, you should be alright. I would give this game 4 points for being average in every aspect, but with a fun-factor that is through the roof!

Superhelden sind auch nicht mehr, was sie einmal waren. Wer sich unter dem Titel Superhero League eine Gruppierung von Gestalten wie Superman, Batman oder Catwoman vorstellt, wird bald eines Besseren belehrt. Die Zivilisation wird von einem Häufchen absolut minderbemittelter Loser verteidigt, deren Erfolgsaussichten nur wegen der noch weitaus lächerlicheren Gegner bestehen.

Pour les joueurs maîtrisant parfaitement l'anglais et l'humour, voilà une aventure digne d'intérêt.

Wer ein bißchen Geduld, Sinn für Humor und gute Englischkenntnisse hat, für den könnte Hoboken zum Kultspiel werden. Gelegenheits-Abenteurern, die schon bei "King's Quest" stöhnen, wird Legends verwegener Genre-Mix aber zu freakig sein.
