Well it feels more like a cheat to me. Oh, well. There's this bug you can exploit when you visit the Gorlab Swamp, before falling asleep and drifting off to dream land. Note you use this after finishing up at Moonshade and traveling under the Furnace dungeon. The bug will enable the following:
- Arrive at dream land with your companions;
- Arrive with your complete set of equipment;
- Leave dream land with all items you got there.
It's kinda tricky. The thing's you need are the following:
- A level 8 Avatar;
- A spellbook containing the level 8 spell "Serpent Bond."
- The 3 major plot items for the dreamland quest: Helm of Courage, that glass rose of love and the Mirror of Truth.
Now here's the tricky part. Originally you enter the dream land with only the 3 plot items and you backpack. Before you enter the swamp, remove all of those items (drop them) or give them to your companions, except your spellbook and its reagents.
IMPORTANT any items you bring other than those mentioned WILL BE LOST. So please check that you removed your serpent ring and serpent earrings!
Cast the the Serpent Bond spell. You will turn into a cute little green snake. Remember to drop your spellbook and your bag containing the reagents. Yes, you can't bring your spellbook unfortunately. You can't give the spellbook to your companions either in "snake mode."
You now can travel (alone, automatically) to Gorlab Swamp, get sleepy, wake up at Dream Land. Once there, walk around until the spells wears off and you obtain your original form. Your companions will immediately join you after that! Yay!
Things you can get at Dream land are amongst others: A complete set of magic armor, gloves, helmet, leggings, boots at Lord British, the Juggernaut Hammer and 2 Infinity Bows. You might as well get all those nuggets and gold bars in one of those gold chests.
After completing the mission (defeating the wizard and getting the Dream Crystal), return to the female healer. Before talking to her, transfer ALL your items to your companions. If you do not, they will be lost! Talk to the healer and wake up in the real world with all the items you got from dream land! Yay!
