"Mines of Qyntarr" was actually the third chapter in a planned series of six "Usurper" games, and, as it turns out, the only one ever released. Sir-Tech's reasoning behind releasing the third game first was lost along with the remainder of the series.

Usurper is regarded as the last commercial "text adventure" of the classic era of PC computing; it's release date was late in the decade (1989).
