Double Deck Solitaire

Moby ID: 91351

Description

Double Deck Solitaire is a shareware game and, as the name suggests, is a card game for one player that uses two standard decks of cards, that’s one hundred and four cards – no jokers.

The Deal: The cards are shuffled and dealt into thirteen piles corresponding to the thirteen numbers in a suit With Ace being one and thirteen being the king. During the deal whenever an Ace or a King is dealt to a pile an additional card is added, face down, to the draw pile, also when the rank of the card matches the pile number – say a four is deal t to the fourth pile or a King to the last pile – then two additional cards are dealt face down, to the draw pile. All the cards are dealt face down and when the deal is complete the top card is turned over.

The object of the game is to move all cards to their respective foundations and thus clear all piles.

Playing the game: Whenever an Ace is on the top of a pile it is moved to the right of the thirteen piles until there is one ace of each suit over there. Cards are played onto the Ace foundations in ascending sequence by suit. Similarly Kings are moved to the left of the thirteen draw piles until there is one king of each suit present, cards are added to the King foundations in descending order. When the player has evaluated the initial turnover of cards moving Aces Kings and any other cards that follow in sequence to the foundations, they turn over a card from the draw pile. The rank of that card corresponds to one of the thirteen piles and that pile together with the card from the draw pile are placed face up in front of the player who moves as many cards to the foundations as possible. When there are no more moves to make the remaining cards ate returned to the field of thirteen piles and another card is taken from the draw pile. This continued until the last card from the draw pile has been played and there are no more moves to make.

The game is entirely mouse controlled and cards that are clicked on are automatically moved to the foundations unless there is a choice to be made. It plays in a fixed size window, has a one move undo function, game statistics, two difficulty settings, multiple card backs, and sound
