Dragon Lore: The Legend Begins

Varsin yksinkertainen pelisysteemi, kahdeksaan suuntaan nykäyksittäin liikkumisineen ja pelkistettyine esineenkäsittelyineen, ei muutoin jaksaisi innostaa, mutta silmille DL on puhdasta orgiaa. Toki miettimistäkin peli tarjoaa jonkin verran.

Nevertheless, one does not come across such well constructed stories everyday with this type of scenario. Role-playing game fans will quickly forget my little remarks and joyfully embark into the land of fantastic beings for an incredible adventure that never ends.

Great graphics; an entertaining story line; and enough action to keep it all pretty interesting. Character animations are very stiff looking and many of the game's creatures are unrecognizable. A solid adventure that goes beyond graphic gimmickry to create an intriguing story in an absorbing world.

Dragon Lore is a full-screen, action RPG. Smooth, rendered 3-D animation and voice clips accompany the great mythological storyline to make up a well-rounded game. RPG fans will enjoy the attention to detail as well as the intuitive motions and menus, but slow access time is one of the few setbacks.

Nicht nur in der PC Games-Redaktion kämpft man des öfteren gegen die Legionen des Chaos. Auch Werner, der Held des Action-Adventures von Cryo (MegaRace, KGB, Dune), muß sich mit diesen Plagegeistern herumärgern. Herzlich willkommen in der gerenderten Fantasy-Welt von Dragon Lore.

Men visst, för den som orkar med ytterligare en riddarsaga och ännu inte tröttnat på att banka orcer kan det säkert ge någon månads underhållning. Mitt råd är dock att satsa pengarna på System Shock istället.

Taking all into consideration, this game will most likely appeal to those people who are blessed with a good dose of lateral thinking to solve the puzzles and who have a love of superb graphics, tempered with the ability to put up with annoying sound effects (those munching mice haunt me still!)

Bottom line: to quote a friend of mine (commenting on a game many years ago): "It's like diving into a beautiful pool, and finding the water is only two inches deep".
