DescriptionDream of Mirror Online is the second online installment in the Xuanyuan Jian series. It is set in a fantasy world loosely based on Chinese mythology. The main plot revolves around the Mirror World, a realm created with the magic power of the Kunlun Mirror, which reflects the real world and copies it to record it for posterity. Recently, however, there has been some disturbance in the way the mirror functioned, causing it to create monstrous reflections and populate the Mirror World with it. The Mirror Kings summon humans from the real world to help them find the cause of the trouble and eliminate it.
There are four races to choose for the playable characters: Humans, Shura (a race of beasts with males resembling dragons and females resembling foxes), Sylph (wise spirit-like beings), and Sprites (a race of small, child-like creatures). Most of the differences between the races, however, are cosmetic, as each can specialize in the same abilities as the others.
The job system is reminiscent of Final Fantasy XI Online. Each character starts as a Commoner and can switch between jobs once he or she reaches level 10. The jobs include Blademaster, Dancer, Doctor, Martial Artist, Musician, Shaman, and others.
Players can also purchase pets, fantasy animal-like creatures of various elemental properties, which can grow and evolve from an egg to a powerful beast the player character can ride on. Another way of transportation in the game is riding a weapon, a feature based on the Chinese myths of sword-flying.
