User review spotlight: Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar (DOS)
Title screen and high scores
A game in progress
Those circular tiles on the floor temporarily allow you to pass the force field
One of many places to explore
High Score Screen
Start of Play
This screen displays as the game loads
The main screen in glorious flashing scrolling technicolour
The start of the game. Unusual action keys. Z/X are left & right, L/; are forwards & backwards
It is possible to stay in the start of game location for a long time and be untouched by all the nasties that float past
Eventually the player has to come out of the alcove and start shooting stuff
A force field blocks the way to the right. The blob like things on the floor can be picked up when walked on.
The way to the left is also blocked, better find what this LIFT message means then
When the sleep energy has depleted the game ends and the player, if they're lucky, gets to enter a high score
The Hi-Score table is also a flashing technicolour job
