Defunct Games
Despite a few nagging problems with controls, and a small selection of weapons, Outtrigger is a solid effort by AM2 giving first person shooter fans something refreshingly different than what they've experienced in past Dreamcast shooters. With a good combination of great single player mission modes and decent multiplayer, once you get used to the controls and the levels, it may be hard to stop that itchy/twitchy trigger finger.

Gaming Target
While Outtrigger is somewhat parallel to shooters like Quake III or Unreal, it will provide a different experience for Dreamcast owners. However, this is why this game may not be for everyone out there. Although once players allow themselves to get into Outtrigger, each will sure to realize what fun this shooter can be. Like the announcer says about exercises, I’m afraid this review is over!

GameSpot
While the system is nearing its final days, the Dreamcast's bread and butter is still its online capabilities. Outtrigger is a fast-paced shooter from Sega that works well as an online game, but it doesn't have enough to it to outlast the likes of Unreal Tournament or Quake III Arena.

Power Unlimited
Als je echt een goede shooter voor je DC wilt bezitten, kun je beter voor UT of Quake 3 kiezen. Outrigger is leuk voor een weekend, meer niet.

The Video Game Critic
The multi-tiered stages are fairly small, and power-ups are all over the place. The single player mode challenges you to an increasingly difficult series of short missions. I don't know about the network mode, but my friends hated the split-screen mode. It's played from the first person perspective, and it's very hard to tell what's happening. Trigger-happy arcade fans might appreciate Outtrigger, but overall it's just average.
