Shark Tale has technically-solid, fun gameplay despite it clearly being developed for younger audiences which is likely to comprised of fans of the film. Like Shrek 2 before it, your overall enjoyment of the game will have much to do with your willingness to accept its target audience but at the very least you will find that Shark Tale simply isn’t a rushed, sure-money title.

If you loved the movie, enjoy funky retro dance music and contemporary hip hop, and want to experience some of the best computer generated undersea graphics to ever grace the Xbox, take Shark Tale for a swim. It’s definitely worth a rental and even earns a spot in your permanent collection when the price drops.

Not to be misunderstood, this is a well-done game. While it’s not on the level of EA’s Lord of the Rings franchise offerings, it is after all targeting a different age group. Under the enchantment of DreamWorks’ CG extravaganza, it’s easy for young minds to be satisfied with what this Shark Tale offers, even if it falls a little short of an older audience’s expectations. The varied gameplay of each mission keeps things interesting, and the overall look of the game matches well with the movie.

This is a game of mixed values. If you have children who liked this movie in the theaters, I can recommend it as a decent tie in, but they may be coming to you for help with some of the gameplay sections, due to the variances in the difficulty.

Shark Tale certainly doesn't suck. It's not especially amazing either, but for a licensed game, it fares far better than recent offerings (*cough*Catwoman*cough*). It's also, as I mentioned before, good for both parent and kid, with enough simplicity to keep the kids (or parents depending on how much of a gamer Mom or Dad is) entertained while still offering enough of a challenge and incentive to unlock the goodies).

By no means is Shark Tale a classic, but it does what a game based on a kid's movie should do. It follows the film's story, it's got the same charm and feel, the gameplay is simple and straightforward, and it's nice to look at. If you're a parent with a younger child, Shark Tale is a good game that you could play together, and the same goes for anyone with a young sibling. If you don't fall into either of those two groups, and you're just a fan of the movie, pick the game up as a rental and beat it in two days, but don't pay full price to purchase it.

Im spaßigen Action-Adventure Große Haie - Kleine Fische übernehmen Sie die Rolle der lustigen Labertasche Oskar, der von einem Problem ins nächste schwimmt.

A good children's action game that falls into the category of either love it or hate it. The music and fast action is exactly what many kids will love about this game. However, parents, be sure you know your kid's gaming styles and preferences before picking up this game, because if your kids don't like arcade play, then they won't like this game. For the rest of the young crowd, though, this may be just the ticket.

The main gripe I have with Shark Tale is that in some of the more fun game types (Dance, Fight, Dodge), you spend most of your time looking at icon prompts rather than taking in the gameplay. This means those not taking part will be more entertained than the actual player. There is no doubt a feeling of repetition, but it is disguised nicely by the various chapters. Once players get passed the camera adjustment, there is some fun to be had. There are 25 chapters in all, most of which don’t last very long. Shark Tale is a great weekend title and it provides some replay value for those kiddies looking to unlock all the extras. Those looking for advanced gameplay, should look elsewhere. Shark Tale is the perfect title for “game night” at the family household.

For those of you who may be thinking about purchasing this game for a son or daughter or brother or sister, or even niece or nephew for this holiday season, I would say that most kids will find the game to be a pretty enjoyable experience.

Shark Tale sets out with a specific target audience in mind, youngsters who enjoy the film looking to get a piece of the action. However, seasoned gamers and adults probably won’t get too much out of the simplistic gameplay and real lack of challenge.

Shark Tale escapes the fate of most big-license games. It offers plenty of fun through various different game play styles and retains the hip style of the movie. Being a kid game, it lacks the depth and difficulty needed by the average gamer. Still, if you're one of those folks that loved the movie, the game is definitely worth checking out. It features spectacular underwater graphics, varied character design, humor and dancing fish.

Objectively speaking, Shark Tale doesn't bring anything to the table that hasn't already been brought to it before--and sometimes in a grander fashion --in other adventure games. Nevertheless, this is a game that fans of the film will likely enjoy, first, because the diverse assortment of different levels keeps the hands-on experience fresh, and second, because so much of the actual footage, music, and dialogue from the movie has been woven so generously into the game.

The latest film-to-game adaptation from Acitivision, Dreamwork's Shark Tale, turned out slightly difficult to review. Not from any considerable challenge game wise, but because it does so many things right. It's a kiddy game that ended up being pretty good. This may come as no surprise to those who've been following Acitvation's recent string of big-license games such as X-Men Legends and Spider Man 2.

The replay value on offer in Shark Tale is very low. Once you pass through the entire game you probably won't want to go back and experience it again, unless you're a fanatic follower of the movie. Nevertheless, Shark Tale is certainly worth diving into for a wet and welcome visit, but you'll probably want to step from the surf and towel off before too long lest your skin takes on that weird prune-like texture.

Shark Tale is a mediocre release. While it has impressive graphics, amazing animation, and high-quality voice acting (even if I was irritated by what they were actually saying), not to mention references to some of my all-time favorite videogames, I am having a hard time endorsing this game because it is simply not much fun to play. Soon-to-be fans of the movie might fall in love with the game’s “aw shucks!”-cum-“urban” charm, and therefore find it to be a worthwhile purchase. For them, that’s just fine, otherwise, Shark Tale is not a good enough game to warrant most people's fifty dollars.

Shark Tale also appears to take advantage of all the voice actors from the movie, unlike the forgettable Bad Boys II, in which the characters didn't sound or even look like the real deal. Will Smith's patented Family-Friendly Hustler persona might still be an acquired taste, but I can tell you from experience that it's better than having some yokel get on the mic.

Now, for the record, I just don’t like this game, and this had been a tough experience for me to write this review. I don’t like to blatantly slag anything, especially when I can’t give entirely valid reasons for doing it. I tried to like it, I tried to get my kids to like it (and believe me, it’s sad when you kids ask you if they can stop playing video games and go do something else), but it’s just so hard for me to warm up to this game for some reason. Maybe it’s the sloppy game play, lack of understandable plot, unlikable characters, or probably a combination of those things and more. I also haven’t seen the movie, so it’s very possible that I’m missing a lot here. But with all that said, I’m sure that there are people out there that will really get a kick out of this, and if you think you’re one of them, then ignore everything I’ve just said.

A falta de variedade não é o único problema do game. Além de ser extremamente curto (pode ser vencido em uma hora por um jogador habilidoso), os objetivos não são muito claros e exigem compreensão do inglês - impedindo muitas crianças de aproveitar o game.
