, originally released as Merchants of Brooklyn
, is a violent first-person action game set in the future, in 3100 A.D. Global warming has caused the sea level to rise and the city of Brooklyn has been flooded. The only solution is to build a higher city, on top of the existing one, where the buildings are connected through sky bridges. The lower levels still exist however and are no longer controlled by law enforcement. As the citizens do not want to work there, scientists clone Neanderthals as a new working class, because of their physical strength.
Soon however, a criminal organization known as Merchants of Brooklyn have the Neanderthals fight in arenas for entertainment. Matteo Savio becomes one of the stars, until he is defeated by a new opponent and has his arm ripped off. A mysterious scientist replaces it with a biomechanical arm, and injects it with his DNA. That way he is able to stay in contact with Matteo and passes on his intelligence.
Players control Matteo as he breaks free from the arena fights and takes on the Merchants of Brooklyn that had him mutilated. He can primarily attack through is powerful fists and is able to brutally dismember opponents. The biomechanical arm can also be transformed into different powerful weapons with nukes, biological ammo and technical capabilities. Each weapon has a primary and a secondary mode, but Matteo can also pick up items or limbs and charge them electrically before hurling them towards enemies. Escaping from the lower areas, he will need to travel through the slums to free his brethren (even though they are his main opponents during the game) and overthrow the Utopian empire living in the sky. The game also supports multiplayer games.

The Press Says
There are currently no topics for this game.
When first released on Steam, an early alpha build was erroneously made available for download. The resulting reviews were brutal due to the extensive bugs in that version. The corrected version was then put in its place. In June, 2009 the title on the Steam delivery service was changed to Drug Wars
after one of the game updates.
