Speaking of which, this game won the 'Best PC Game' Award at E3 '97. What I'm saying here is that you really can't go wrong: you'll be playing late into the night. Dungeon Keeper is a revolutionary, terrific game. So come to the dark side, you won't regret it.

Dungeon Keeper ist wirklich ein Spiel für Tage, an denen Weihnachten und Ostern zusammenfällt. Selten ist mir in den letzten Jahren eine so originelle Spielidee untergekommen, die auch in der Ausführung keinerlei Schwächen aufweist. Jeder level ist auf unterschiedlichste Weise zu gewinnen, eine perfekte Strategie, die immer zum Erfolg führt, gibt es nicht. Das wirklich Geniale an dem Programm ist aber weniger das höchst motivierende Spielprinzip, sondern die Tatsache, daß Fans der unterschiedlichsten Genres Spaß an Dungeon Keeper haben werden.

This very well could be one of the games of the year. For so long we all thought the game was never going to come out and at times it can be hard to believe that it actually is here. The efforts that went into making this game perfect have paid off. The rich detail and fluid graphics paint a great picture of a dark dungeon atmosphere. Where many games tend to lack is in Artificial Intelligence, but Dungeon Keeper is an exception to this trend. Not only is the AI worthy, but it will actually learn to play to your style. The sound and music truly set the mood for playing in an underground world and the interface is intuitive and easy to use. The multiplayer mode also offers a new challenge to playing multiplayer games and combines not only strategy but also wit. It takes more thought and planning to truly master playing the multiplayer mode within Dungeon Keeper. It is hard to believe that a game can earn such high scores, but it is also hard to find any true flaws in Dungeon Keeper.

Вне сомнений, грядет новая волна стратегий реального времени в 3D, и это очень хорошо, потому что любимый жанр просит перемен. Dungeon Keeper - первая настоящая игра в этом стиле, и то, что она задумывалась еще два года назад, говорит только в пользу создателей. Any real-time gamer with a yearning for the dungeon life and the nerve to slaughter an army of Monks, Fairies and Lords will be pleasantly surprised with Dungeon Keeper. Pots of gold and sparkling gems lure every hero to forge the dark passageways beneath their quiet towns. Sure a sharp sword and shiny armor may have made you a hero in the past, but now the tables are surely turning. In Dungeon Keeper you will now have the chance to stop the forces of Good from pillaging and keep all the riches, creatures and power to yourself. After all, how hard can it be to stop a few sword wielding, tin can wearing, pumped up warriors, wizards, and general do-gooders? Personally, I welcome the chance to fight for the dark side.

Dungeon Kepper kunne med fordel have rummet flere baner og mere end én enkelt sværhedsgrad. Også understøttelsen af flere spillere kunne være bedre. Men ingen af delene ændrer ved, at Dungeon Keeper er et uhyre chamerende spil, der nok skal finde et meget bredt publikum.

Totgesagte leben länger: Mit gehöriger Verspätung präsentiert Peter Molyneux doch noch sein letztes Spiel für Bullfrog. Dungeon Keeper wandelt sich vom Rollenspiel zum Strategie-Hammer, der mit vielen neuen Elementen für frischen Wind im Echtzeit-Genre sorgt.

None of these problems keeps Dungeon Keeper from being among the best games released so far this year, and any fan of real-time strategy or classic fantasy role-playing games should run right out and buy this game. Hopefully, this is the new face of Bullfrog... now bring on the new Populous!

Bullfrog is back. Forget for a second all the talk about Molyneux's exodus. Forget for a moment the lukewarm offerings like Gene Wars and Theme Hospital. Forget also the recurring delays and disappointments in Dungeon Keeper's creation. It's a rich strategy game that is both intuitive and challenging, both innovative and polished.

The copyright notice on Edge's press copy of Dungeon Keeper contains a humorous question mark after the '1997' date stamp, fitting given that the game has suffered the mother of all slippages. What was to be a neat little extension of the god sim genre almost three years ago has become not only a labour of love for Bullfrog leader Peter Molyneux, but also his swansong, as he prepares to strike out under a new development banner. As parting shots go, few get better than this.

Some people just found the gameplay a tad repetitive after about four or five levels, and this is mainly due to the fact that the gameplay is fairly repetitive; others thought it was so much fun they didn't mind doing the same thing all over again (build a dungeon, make some monsters, go and get the baddies etc). You may feel differently. Top tip: find a demo of the game from somewhere, play it five times in a row, and if you still feel you want more then go and buy it. Easy, innit?

Un jeu qui mélange les genre RTS, gestion et RPG avec bonheur mais qui souffre incroyablement de la stupidité de son IA et de l’absence mode multijoueur, reste à garder espoir car avec un bon patch ce jeu deviendra un hit en puissance.

Le monde du jeu vidéo a une forte tendance à écraser le joueur de bon sentiment. Réfléchissez y deux secondes, combien de princesses avez vous déjà sauvé, combien de démons gluants avez vous passez de non vie à plus de trépas ? Trop longtemps le joueur s’est vu offert le statut de chevalier blanc, mais nous ne sommes pas tous aussi vertueux que Bruce Willis qui se lève sûrement une fois par semaine avec la folle envie de sauver le monde. Dungeon Keeper vous fera passer de l’autre côté de la force, le monde et beau, il est pur, et il faut que ça cesse. Relevez vos manches, il y a du pain sur la planche…
