This little walkthrough will guide you through the hacking system of Enter The Matrix, from beginning to end. If you follow this walkthrough exactly, you'll have no problem navigating the hacking system.
First off, choose Hacking from the Main Menu. Choose a saved game you'd like to hack. After choosing a game, you will see a virtual keyboard. A bunch of stuff will be happening that really doesn't matter. At the bottom of the screen, it'll say PRESS ANY KEY. On the consoles, hit a button. For Windows, strike a key.
You'll get to a screen with three lines of text at the top, and the command prompt, A:\>, waiting for you.
First off, type this:
DIR A:
A directory listing of A: will appear. If you notice at the bottom left of the screen, the command DIR is under the header COMMAND LIST. You can now highlight DIR without having to type it in everytime. For the sake of this, though, I'll tell you to type it out. Feel free to use the shortcut, though. Now, type this:
DIR A:\SYSTEM
A bunch of executable files will appear. The only useful ones are LOGIN and READ. Now type this:
DIR A:\TOOLS
More executables will appear.
VIBRATION.EXE - This will cause your controller to vibrate. Enter a number from 1 - 100.
BEEP.EXE - This will play a musical beep. Enter combinations of numbers from 1 - 8. Ex: 18841212 will play a tune.
CHEAT.EXE - This will enable various cheat codes.
Now type this:
DIR A:\TEXT
This will list various TXT files. The important ones are NOTE2.TXT and PASSWORD.TXT. Now, type this:
READ A:\TEXT\NOTE2.TXT
Note the password there; FROZENFISH. Now, type this:
READ A:\TEXT\PASSWORD
Note the eight digit password next to www.thematrix.com. Now, type this:
LOGIN
This will require a password. You may enter one of these:
GUEST
FREEMIND
COWBOYCURTIS
Entering GUEST will log you in. Entering one of the other two will also log you in, but will let you hear a greeting from Morpheous. You now have access to B:\. Now, type this:
DIR B:
You'll get a directory listing of B: Ignore all the directories except for TOOLS. Now, type this:
DIR B:\TOOLS
You will be required to enter a five digit password. This password is binary. If you understand computer language, you'll know that binary is all 1's and 0's. This password is also random, so to begin, type in this:
00000
The screen will tell you how many digits are correct and in what position. It's up to you to figure out the correct password by playing around with the numbers. 00001, 00011, 00111, 00101, 00110, etc. Once you get the right one, B: will be opened to you. Now, type this:
VIRTUAL
You'll need a password. You read this password in one of the .TXT files earlier, remember? So, type this:
FROZENFISH
You will dial into a program. You have 99 seconds to arrange the puzzle sqaures to form one full image. This puzzle is random, so just play with it. After you figure out the puzzle, you'll get one of three solutions; black, red, or blue.
BLACK SOLUTION - Wrong. The puzzle will be reset and you'll have to do it again.
RED SOLUTION - Good. You can continue hacking.
BLUE SOLUTIO - Toss-up. Your activites are being traced and you have to kill the program. To kill the program, immediately type this:
TRACEKILL
The trace will be lost and your system won't be rebooted, but you'll have to complete the puzzle again. Once the puzzle is finished and the correct solution has been reached, type this:
DIR V:
This will open the new directory. Now, type this:
DIR V:\TOOLS
You'll have two executables. Now, type this:
ROOTSEARCH
This will run a program and reveal the admin password, which is THISISNOTREAL. Now, type this:
DIR V:\ROOT
You'll have another two executables. Now, type this:
MAIL
You'll be asked to enter an admin password, so type in this:
THISISNOTREAL
You'll log in. The program will ask you if you wish to read emails. Type Y or YES. You'll get four phone numbers. The first two don't work. Now, type this:
DIAL 0012135550142 (no spaces or dashes)
You'll get a message from Morpheous. He tells you Trinity will soon contact you. Now, type this:
DIAL 0013105550111 (no spaces or dashes)
You'll get a message from Trinity. She will give you a three digit number, 942. Now, type this:
PORTKEY 942
A bunch of characters will scroll rapidly, and you'll be in a conversation with Trinity. Just type anything to get through, as it doesn't matter what you say. Once the conversation has ended, type this:
CRACK 8RAM
This will crack the password of the RAM drive and allow you access. Once inside, type this:
DIR RAM:
You'll get a directory listing. Now, type this:
HANDSHAKE
You'll connect to Sparks, operator of the Logos. He'll ask you what's up. Just type anything. He'll ask you what a file is. Just type anything. Something will happen, Sparks will get scared, and he will tell you to run the EMP program, so type this:
EMP

Your hacking is now over! Sparks will shut down the system, but just go back into it via the HACKING option. BE SURE TO SAVE WHEN IT ASKS, or all your hacking will have gone to waste. You can now go back and view all the images, read the bios, do whatever you want. |
