ESPN NBA basketball takes you closer to the on-court action than ever before, with fanatical crowds, dazzling lights and deafening cheers. In addition, the new-look presentation and commentary from NBA vets Kevin Frazier, Tom Tolbert and Rob Fitzgerald could fool some people into thinking they're watching the real thing on TV. On the court, the new IsoMotion control method lets you execute lightning quick crossovers and other devastating moves using the right analog stick.

There's a variety of game modes to get stuck into, including the 24/7 mode, in which you create your own customised player and take on challenges from current NBA players and legends of yesteryear. Get up to speed by training and trying out drills to unlock new content. Cunningly, the game reads the clock setting on your PS2 and, if you stay away from the court too long, your man's likely to get out of shape! Besides the more traditional mode, such as Street (jam on the old neighbourhood courts), Full Court, Half Court and One on One, the new Multi-Player Franchise mode lets you control the destinies of as many teams as you like.
