E.T. Interplanetary Mission is brought to us by Ubi Soft under the pretence of being an ‘action’-game. Action-gaming for 6 year olds, what are we to expect? Well, I wasn’t disappointed at all, on the contrary! It reminded me of those long-lost days of spending hours and hours -not to mention loads of pocket money- playing arcade games. The developers have succeeded in creating a captivating game that’s quite addictive. I mean, you want to get to the big boss at the end of the level to show him how serious you just are, don’t you? E.T. Interplanetary mission is a very good ‘stepping-stone’ towards more complex action games. It teaches kids how to reason when playing and it teaches them some pretty complex movements and manoeuvres.

ET Interplanetary Mission is recommended for those who love the sweet alien, and who wish to play a relatively easy but enjoyable action game. It's recommended for kids, though since ET has to dispatch creatures, be aware that they are learning about killing as they play the game. There is no blood or gore, so it seems rather harmless, but parents should make sure their kids are ready for the challenge.

Nostalgia overwhelmed me all throughout my short few hours with "Interplanetary Mission", but not enough to blind me to the averageness of E.T.'s latest interactive adventures. Less edutainment and more game seems to be NewKidCo's latest mantra, and we couldn't be happier that it happened to such a nice and lovable character. The PS2 version of "E.T." is the one worth getting excited over, but this PSOne scavenger hunt will amuse those willing to rent or buy it for a few hours.

Graphically this game features solid animation of E.T. and other creatures. The polygonal environments and plants may seem a little sharp, but that is to be expected. The environments are diverse and entertaining. This is not the most challenging game ever created for the PlayStation, but it is a pleasant diversion. Rated for Everyone, E.T. The Extraterrestrial: Interplanetary Mission will not be for every PS game player, but it will satisfy fans of the movie.

WindowsAll Game Guide
Interplanetary Mission is an easy-to-play adventure filled with colorful and menacing (though not particularly scary) creatures, and should captivate youngsters as did the movie two decades ago. The feel of exploring strange planets comes through nicely, and controlling a sentient creature who has more to offer than the standard mindless cartoon character will no doubt enchant and fascinate kids. With the "wonder" factor of what's around the next corner prevalent during gameplay, children will likely keep playing this one until the end -- definitely the sign of a successful title.

At $9.99, this is a great gaming alternative that works on a modest system and with so few games out there for kids these days, E.T. Interplanetary Mission is a refreshing action/adventure game for younger kids who probably aren’t ready for games like Diablo or Dungeon Siege. Parents will enjoy playing this alongside their kids and reliving the magic and adventure they experienced more than twenty years ago.

Interplanetary Mission is below average on many levels, and especially with the thoughtful design of NewKidCo's GBC release under this license, I'm surprised at this subpar title. The whole spirit of the license is subverted by things like the Heart Stun and the action oriented gameplay, but even putting that aside, the game doesn't make a lick of sense. Without a backstory, the developers could at least have offered some interesting gameplay, but this is a one-trick pony. Level after level of sameness is not enjoyable, and don't try telling me it's just because Interplanetary Mission is aimed at a younger audience. The idea of playing E.T. in a videogame has appeal, and watching the character could be amusing for the first 5 minutes, but most parents will want to run the other way when they read that a critical aspect of gameplay has E.T. 'neutralizing dangerous animals and threatening government agents.' Take a pass on this one.

Il faut reconnaître que le titre de NewKidCo accumule bien trop de défauts. Son aspect technique assez repoussant et sa jouabilité exécrable font de ce jeu une mauvaise expérience en matière de jeux de plates-formes.

There is no reason for Newkidco to have made this game, and directly proportionate to that line of thinking, there is no reason for you to play it, unless you hate yourself. If that's the case, then play this one in the bathtub with the TV and the PlayStation submerged with you. And use an extension cord that is showing the bare wires. Don't even rent this for the kids, to give them a piece of nostalgia, they will just think you are stupid. And well, I can't argue with them there. The coolest thing you could do as a parent, is NOT rent or buy this game. Case closed.

Повесть о хладнокровном маньяке, способном во имя страсти к гербариям загубить чуть ли не весь животный мир несчастной планеты. И это — детям?
