You can use two joysticks: one for flight controls, the other for throttle/rudder
Always try to fly below 500 feet to avoid radar detection.
Helicopters are very easy targets, just use the cannon.

This suspension bridge marks the peak of detail in the EGA landscapes. Still, not bad for 1989.
Getting that close to enemy fighters for a dogfight is highly unusual...
...as normally all you'll see is the target rectangle on your HUD. At that point, long-range fire&forget rockets take care of the rest.

I think this screen allows fine tuning of weather etc. I have training mode set to ON so most are disabled
Load weapons. I chose the default 'Crews Choice' but weapons can be selected individually.
After all that the need to load some more of the game is a bit of a let down

Steep learning curve, everything must be done right. Of all the ways to end a mission I'd have preferred to at least get into the sky.

When the mission fails the screen goes completely red. Then there's a pause while the game loads the end of mission data
This time, at least I got off the ground.
