F-22 Lightning 3 should have a strong appeal to entertainment-oriented virtual pilots. The nuclear feature has a way of drawing the curious into the game. By far, the multiplayer aspect yields the most value, but when competing online, F-22 Lightning 3 has the feel of a sport, rather than a war. NovaLogic might want to throw in some complexity by deepening the weapons systems and flight modeling next time around. Until then, let’s have some fun.

F-22 Lightning 3 is een game dat heel speelbaar is, vele uitdagingen bevat en grafisch bijzonder aantrekkelijk oogt. De quick missions en de campagnes zijn niet echt verrassend maar zorgen weerom door de grafische afweking van de verschillende lokaties en het groot aantal lucht- en gronddoelen voor het nodige spelplezier. Het echte zwaartepunt van dit spel zit hem echter in de multiplayer mogelijkheden.

F-22 Lightning 3 se trouve être une splendide simulation d'un point de vue technique et il possède un bon gameplay et une durée de vie conséquente. Les puristes amateurs de simulation pure seront peut-être déçus par l'aspect "arcade" (même si on en est loin). En tout cas, F-22 Lightning se hisse à la place tant convoitée d'un des meilleurs simulateurs de combat aérien. Plaisir garanti sur facture.

F22 Lightning 3 is a good game, it has some tough competition to fight off but if your looking for a good flight game and your as bad as me at them then this game will suit you to a tee!

In the end, NovaLogic did a great job of accomplishing exactly what they were going for ... making a flight sim that would appeal to the masses. Lightning 3 isn't too complicated and it's lots of fun. This game isn't going to wow sim enthusiasts who want the real-deal feel, but it opens up the genre to those who are willing to sacrifice a bit of realism for excellent gameplay and a genuinely fun experience. And who knows, it may even convert a few casual gamers into hardcore sim fans.

Despite NovaLogic's attempt to gain legitimacy with official sanctioning from the F-22's manufacturer Lockheed Martin, you still couldn't expect the level of realism of, say, the Falcon series, or sims from Digital Integration, Jane's, or Digital Image Design. So, with that in mind, if you look over NovaLogic's latest offering, F-22 Lightning 3, you are presented with NovaLogic's credo (that is, fast, fun, and furious) front and center, which is really not a bad thing at all.

Из всех трёх F-22 от NovaLogic Lightning 3, понятно, лучший. Он ничуть не менее играбелен, чем все авиасимуляторы упомянутой фирмы (но и не более - поскольку мало чем от них отличается). Вообще говоря, такой играбельности вполне достаточно. Разработчики это тоже понимают - потому и штампуют свои F-22 один за другим, производя небольшой косметический ремонт.

Overall, I feel that F-22 Lightning 3 is a great game for the flight sim novice or the average gamer interested in accessable, fast-paced combat gaming. The visuals are beautiful, specifically the weather effects, despite the fog problem. I marveled at the lightning effects for quite a while. The locales are varied enough to keep you looking out the window whenever you have a spare second. Missions are well designed and engaging, and offer enough variety to keep the disc in your machine for quite a while. And the variety of enemy aircraft is impressive--if you have the chance to get close to them.

Positiv kommt F-22 Lightning 3 bei der immer noch sehr schönen Postkarten-Landschaft weg. Obwohl im Zeitalter von Voodoo 3 und Riva TNT 2 sicherlich auch Auflösungen jenseits der 1024-mal-768- Grenze machbar gewesen wären. Wer noch keinen Flugsimulator der Novalogic-Machart besitzt, wird mit rasanter Action jenseits der Schallmauer bedient. Bei Kennern der Vorgänger hinterläßt der dritte F-22-Aufguß ein schales Déjà-vu-Erlebnis, das den Kauftrieb stark eindämmt.

Gute Grafiken, gute Missionen und ein sehr einsteigerfreundliches Flugmodell - mit diesen Eigenschaften kann NovaLogic wieder einmal eine solide Flugsimulation landen. Der Unterschied zu der Vorgängerversion hält sich mit einem neuen Waffensystem, Wettereffekten und einem Missionseditor allerdings in engen Grenzen. Daß die neu hinzugekommene Waffe ausgerechnet eine B61-Atombombe und damit eine echte Massenvernichtungswaffe ist, stellt allerdingen einen Sündenfall dar. Waffen, die sich auch gegen die Zivilbevölkerung richten, gehören definitiv nicht in ein Stück Unterhaltungssoftware, selbst wenn es sich Simulation nennt.

Откровенно говоря, я так и не понял, понравился мне F-22 или нет. С одной стороны, красивая (но не более) графика, прекрасная летная модель, совмещенная с простотой управления — все для чайника, только-только вползающего в мир авиасимуляторов. Словом, все то, что мы и привыкли видеть в симуляторах от NovaLogic. Но с другой стороны — полное пренебрежение реалистичностью в плане географии (не только в кампании на Кольском полуострове, но и в других), плохоразличимые модели кораблей и наземной техники, явная недооценка самолетов противника (то есть, наших).

If you're a flight sim traditionalist, the the smooth limo ride offered by F-22 Lightning 3 probably won't entice you away from your Falcon 4.0 Ferrari. For casual flight fans, however - and maybe even a few hardcore types intrigued by the Voice-Over-Net multi-player feature - it does offer some pleasant creature comforts.

In a nutshell, although F-22 LIGHTNING 3 is an incremental improvement over its predecessors, if you’re a casual gamer looking for a fun flight sim, it’s a good choice. And if you’re a hard-core simmer looking for a quick, fun break—well, we won’t tell.
