This is the largest (perhaps even too large), most interesting and best looking Dizzy game for the PC. It manages to stay true to Dizzy-specific peculiarities, while adding a lot of extra features. The different elements are well-balanced, making this a game suitable both for players already familiar with Dizzy games and for those who have never heard of them before. Although it may lack some sort of raw attraction that the Spectrum and C64 owners certainly felt, Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy has all you need from a Dizzy game. I would even recommend this game to players who tried other Dizzy games and hated them.

Who would have thought it, eh? The little blobby white character who came into existence because he was easy to draw and did not present too much of a problem to the old Spectrum’s extremely limited colour palette is now one of the country’s biggest video game stars. As well as racking up huge sales on all the 8-bit and 16-bit home computer formats, Dizzy has been spotted on the NES and recently made his debut on the Mega Drive. In fact, he made his debut in this very game, which is the first-ever Dizzy game to be converted back to a floppy disk format, as well as the first one to feature proper scrolling instead of just flicking from screen to screen. Pretty interesting stuff so far, huh?

The "Mario" of Europe stars in this side-scrambling adventure that's a kind of eggcellent scavenger hunt. Colorful and cheerful, but a little basic for 16-bit.

Huge levels are the highlight of this actioneer starring an egg-like hero, with plenty of items to find on your quest. Graphically, things are okay, but the involving game play is the real star here - things get somewhat addictive!

Humpty Dumpty would be proud. Dizzy's a surprisingly eggs-citing game. The graphics, sound, and gameplay are above average, and the bonus areas are challenging. The Yolkfolk of Zakeria are ready to egg you on, get cracking!

There's a danger of being accused of hypocrisy here. Haven't we always said that big is not necessarily best, and that there's virtue in simplicity. The problem is that the gameplay in Dizzy is too simple and too similar. But, you might say, it's aimed at children. It still costs the best part of 30 quid I reply.
