Description

Porom's Tale: The Vanished Lunar Whale is an optional story for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. It is a separate download for mobile phones and a DLC for WiiWare version of the game.

Porom is a young white mage, Palom's twin sister and one of the important characters in the original Final Fantasy IV. The story begins with a series of playable flashbacks showing how Porom grew up together with her fidgety brother. Back in the present time, Porom decides to ascend the mount Ordeals in search for Kain.

Porom's Tale features mechanics introduced in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - bands and the change of the moon phase. There is also a Challenge dungeon accessible after the end of the story. The Challenge dungeon is a vast area with randomly located NPC. NPCs will ask of favors, for example to cast a certain spell, give some items or rescue someone from a monster. The player is given 15 minutes to help as many NPCs as he can, and his progress in doing so will determine what treasure he gets in the end.

Porom's Tale is not necessary for completing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, however finishing this story will allow the players to export the characters with all their items, equipment and characteristics into the final tale - The Crystals.
