Description

Rydia's Tale: The Eidolons Shackled is an optional story for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. It is a separate download for mobile phones and a DLC for WiiWare version of the game.

Rydia is a summoner from Mist village, and is one of the main characters in the original Final Fantasy IV. The story begins when Eidolon Queen Asura forbids Rydia from visiting Feimarch, the Eidolon realm. However, Rydia disobeys and soon finds out that all the Eidolons were turned to stone by Mysterious Girl. As a result of this, Rydia looses her ability to summon Eidolons in battle. In her search for the answers Rydia is accompanied by Luca (the daughter of dwarven king Glott and the apprentice of Cid), and two mechanical dolls - Calca and Brina.

Rydia's Tale features mechanics introduced in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - bands and the change of the moon phase. There is also a Challenge dungeon (presented as an underground maze) accessible after the end of the story.

Rydia's Tale is not necessary for completing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, however finishing this story will allow the players to export the characters with all their items, equipment and characteristics into the final tale - The Crystals.
