Description

Flower Town is a simulation game where the player seeks to earn the title of "Master Gardener" by growing 20 different breeds of plants in their garden. To do this, the player must collect StreetPass tags with their 3DS system, and each player encountered may influence what breeds and colors emerge from the player's flower pots. All breeds and colors are noted in the player's in-game journal, with up to 80 different breeds available in a wide variety of colors.

To garden, the player must have a pot sitting in their garden with a seed planted in it. When they are ready, they can "garden with friends," which is accompanied by an animation of each StreetPass-tagged Mii walking into the player's garden with a plant of their own and then watering the player's plant. Each "watering" results in the plant growing a little bit more and eventually blossoming; once the plant has flowered the each Mii then lets the player collect a seed from that plant. Seeds are hybrids of the player's plant and their guests' plant, with each flower carrying a total of 10 seeds. Once the flower has fully grown and all seeds have been collected nothing more can be done with the plant, and the player may move the plant to a plot in their garden for display, or sell it. Excess seeds may also be sold for in-game gold.

Gold can be used to purchase new pots, seeds, plots, and decorative items from the shops. Pots, plots, and decorative items do not influence plant growth. Only common seeds are available from shops; rare seeds must be obtained from StreetPass tags. In the planter's shed, when the player is given the option to plant a new seed in the pot of their choice, they will be shown a "planter's preview" that shows an outline of possible outcomes (and pictures of guaranteed outcomes). They are also told the probability of obtaining a new breed or new color. Besides their aesthetic appeal and filling out journal entries, different breeds and colors also play a part in client requests from Ms. Blossom's shop. Clients will request a flower for a particular purpose or color, and the player must try to grow a plant that fits those criteria. Success in doing so nets payment and an item reward.

Flower Town is part of the StreetPass Mii Plaza collection of games, but must be downloaded separately at additional cost.
