Xbox Live is where Full Auto really comes into its own. Without access to Microsoft’s online world this title becomes more like Half or even Quarter Auto, such is the rather uneventful single player mode or the glaringly overlooked multiplayer. If you don’t have Live, take 3 points from the score and leave this well alone, because you’re missing all the fun.

Full Auto is the beginning of a beautiful series. Much like just about every first game in a franchise, it has its flaws. The framerate drops, the maps aren’t varied enough, and the Xbox Live interface is a little clunky, but the core gameplay of Full Auto is truly fun. Sega and Pseudo Interactive had a great idea here, but the final product just feels like it may have been rushed out the door. Had this cake been let alone to sit in the oven for another month, you could have a Game of the Year candidate here. However, as it stands, you have an overly very solid experience that is tons of fun, offers a lot of replay and tons of unlockable content, and will leave you with more “Did you see that?” moments than any other game on the console. Remember that the one touch instant replay is a quick tap down on the D-Pad, because you’re going to experience things that you just have to see twice to believe. Burnout, beware: Pseudo Interactive is knocking on your door.

Scientists have discovered a way to make the Burnout crash-and-burn formula even manlier: add guns. The result is a chaotic, testosterone-filled mess of car wrecks and bullet holes. I love it.

Back when the Nintendo 64 and Playstation were butting heads, Activision's marketing team released an ad campaign for Vigilante 8. The tagline was simple: "Blow sh*t up." What a shame that line was wasted on a game where the only thing exploding were the cars instead of holding it back for Full Auto. That singular line describes this superbly crafted action title, its hook, and the appeal.

Green means guns in this demolishing racer where finishing first comes second to causing an orgy of explosions.

There is a lot of potential with Full Auto and hopefully we’ll see a more developed concept with better online play in the near future. For now, it’s probably best as a rental unless you really plan to spend the weeks required to unlock every last bonus.

Game Vortex
If taken as a simple arcade racer, Full Auto is a fun diversion. Look any deeper, and you’re only setting yourself up for disappointment. The game simply doesn’t have enough variety to be entertaining for more than a week, making it a better rental than purchase.

Game Informer Magazine
There are a lot of cool ideas at play in Full Auto, and the races can be giddily enjoyable, especially online, but overall it doesn't quite reach the heights that a weapons-based racer could. Still, if the idea of racing around, blasting at anything that moves sounds like fun to you, then there are probably some thrills to be had for you in this game.

When comparing Full Auto to other racers out there it’s important to keep in mind that this is, at heart, an arcade racer and as such, it fulfills what it sets out to do quite well and can be enjoyed in short bursts of play in single player mode or longer multiplayer sessions. While in no way a substitute for more traditional racers, it does keep Sega’s legacy of quick-fix gaming alive and well and even fills a nostalgic void in us older gamers.

Full Auto pushes the pedal to the metal but it runs out of speed way too quickly. It’s a game with all the right elements to give Twisted Metal a run for its money but as it stands this is really just a simplistic racing game that could have been a lot better considering the power of the Xbox 360.This one is a definite rental, indeed.

Sadly, online is the only venue where I actually felt the thrill of competition. This next-gen racer had the makings of an explosive release, but ended up being a fairly insignificant puff of smoke.

As one of Sega's first efforts in next-gen gaming, and with the amount of hype they created for the game, we were left feeling disappointed

Full Auto is a game that's good without ever being great. I've got to be honest here and say that my opinion has seldom fluctuated about a game as much as when I was playing through it. Initially I was disappointed that the frame rate dips occurred and that the game didn't offer more than it does but when I accepted the game for what it was, an arcade-style combat racer that's light on depth but addictive and fun, I began to see the game in a better light and it's a game many will enjoy, although I suspect many will not be hugely impressed with the game. If the current driving games on the Xbox 360 aren't really your thing and you want something of a more destructive nature for both online and offline play you should definitely give Full Auto a go.

Sega created an action filled racing game that's on the shallow side and filled with a variety of flaws. They did manage to create an excellent online section for the game, but that's more attributed to the contrast of racing actual people rather than the mediocre AI. Full Auto can be enjoyable if you want to look past the flaws, but the multiplayer alone doesn't warrant a purchase at the retail price. Going through the single player career mode will take around 6 to 8 hours to finish and you can add another few hours to acquire all the Full Auto medals. It is worth a rent to complete the single player career and test out the online mode.

I just wish Full Auto, with all its hype, and with all its racing destruction, was fun. It got very boring after only a few hours. The online play didn’t save it. The graphics didn’t save it. It’s shallow, and repetitive. The slowdown is also inexcusable. Stick with Burnout Revenge for your next-gen racing destruction.

Pseudo Interactive's Full Auto is a fun arcade style racing game which will provide a few hours of fun. Although fun for a while, Full Auto isn't the type of game which you can spend hours upon hours playing. No doubt Full Auto won't be sticking in your 360 for months to come, but for a quick rush with some friends online it will do the trick. I'd half to recommend renting this one first and then deciding how much you love to race and destroy. I hope Sega pushes forward and revamped this series with a squeal. Full Auto has personality and potential, it just wasn't fully tapped out. A little more focus and variety, added some killer music tracks and we'll be first in line for the next race

Full Auto is the first of a new batch of Xbox360 games but I hope, and am pretty sure of it, that the others will be much better than the one mentioned before. Sega and Pseudo Interactive have tried to combine arcade racing with shooting, but didn't have enough inspiration to offer more than just this basic setup.

While we've seen plenty of racing games on the Xbox 360 and plenty of combative games as well, we've yet to see a combination of the two. The system gets its first car-combat game in Full Auto, a racing-while-shooting extravaganza from Sega and Pseudo Interactive. Full Auto has its heart in the right place, but without enough variants on the core theme, you'll run out of gas long before it runs out of objectives.

Game Freaks 365
While Full Auto isn't a bad game, it isn't really the best choice for a $60 purchase. I'd say that it makes a great rental, as most of the game's enjoyment can be found in the first few hours of play. If you're a fan of Burnout or other destruction-based games, I suggest that route, check Full Auto out for yourself and decide, because it's a decent game that doesn't require much effort to enjoy, though the enjoyment is short-lived.

Totally 360
This game sticks to what its good at and that's blowing things 50ft into the air but once your past that there's nothing else to the game. Full Auto's single player is a major let down with no signs of the previously announced Storyline and its because of that the Career Mode is just a never ending list of races with slightly differing objectives, none of which do nothing to break the repetition that?s ever apparent in this game. Full Auto is best enjoyed in short multiplayer stints every once in a while but if your looking for a destructive racer with some substance I would wait for Burnout.

So now the question is, should you buy this game? To put it simply, no – at least, not while it's selling for $60 a pop. Full Auto gives off a rushed vibe filled with inexcusable glitches and basically just feels a bit too ordinary to garner the attention of the racing purist crowd. And while the multiplayer aspect definitely has some legs to stand on, there's not much beyond that to keep you faithfully interested.

It needed to kick your arse more, and give you something mechanical to lure you back, not just canned explosions. You'll enjoy playing it, but you're not actually being entertained, just mollified if ever you put a foot wrong, and I'm a big enough boy to want to learn from mistakes rather than have my plate reform on the desk in front of me with a fresh toasty or have the snack glued into my hand. If my foot wasn't bleeding and I wasn't still hungry, I wouldn't know to be more careful with my 6am feeding; Full Auto doesn't seem to understand that, and therein lies the problem.

Gaming Age
Full Auto isn't quite the Xbox 360 showpiece as expected originally, but it has a certain addictive quality to it that sets it apart from your typical arcade racing game. It's still a bit difficult to swallow the $59 retail price tag, although at this point the game could be obtained for quite a bit less.

Game Revolution
It might supply tons of carnage, but without a solid game surrounding it, this is little more than a frantic, gorgeous wreck.
