Virgin har lyckats ta en gammal spelidé och göra ett helskönt spel trots att det inte innehåller några egentliga nyheter.

Lyhyys korostuu vielä entisestään, koska suurin osa pelin ongelmista ratkeaa helposti. Suurempia ongelmia oli vain parissa kohdassa ja nekin selvitti kun vähän mietti. Helppous voi johtua myös siitä, että pelissä on käytettäviä tavaroita hyvin vähän. Myös liiankin helpotettu ja rajoittunut käyttöliittymä on syynä siihen, etteivät ongelmat ole kovin monimutkaisia.

When deciding on whether or not to buy movies, you have to determine if you'll watch them enough times to get your money's worth. For computer games, replay value is very important (especially since computer games cost much more than VHS movies). However, once in a great while, a gem comes along that beckons you to buy it. Full Throttle should be that gem. Although you'll know what happens on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time you play it, Full Throttle is so entertaining that you might want to invite friends over and "watch" the game unfold. It's better than most action movies I've seen in a while, and the dialog is intelligent, yet pertinent to the story and its characters. I say "FLOOR IT" and get FullThrottle.

Les mauvaises langues pourraient dire que Lucas Arts se la coule douce avec les différentes adaptations de l'univers de Star Wars. Pas du tout, ils savent aussi innover pour réveiller le côté rebelle qui sommeille en nous. Beau, jouable, prenant, Full Throttle est la nouvelle référence des jeux d'aventure.

As a whole, Full Throttle is a greatly entertaining adventure. The game tells an interesting and very engaging story that should keep you interested from start to finish. With a colorful cast of characters, excellent voice acting, a fitting soundtrack, stylish cartoon-like graphics, and a healthy dose of humor, Full Throttle manages to deliver a very successful road adventure. The mini-games and the timed sequences might put off some players. The game is also fairly short and can be completed in just a few hours. However, it is still a thoroughly fun ride and can be easily recommended to fans of third-person point-and-click adventure games. If you have not played it yet, try and get a hold of a copy. You will be in for a treat.

Als Full Throttle een voedselreclame was in plaats van een extreem cool bikerspel, dan zou men het met recht een uitgebalanceerd product noemen met precies de goede verhouding tussen de ingrediënten puzzels, akties en filmpjes.

Since their first adventure game, LucasArts has never failed to produce exciting and innovative games from the old Maniac Mansion back in the 80's, to Full Throttle, their latest game. As oppose to their previous games, Full Throttle draws you into a reality that is close to our own. There are no tentacles, no pirate's ghosts of any kind and no Indiana Jones. Instead, you play the role of Ben, the leader of an outlaw biker gang called the Polecats.

Featuring a superb story that borrows from the cult films Easy Rider and Mad Max, Full Throttle is arguably LucasArts' finest graphic adventure creation. While the graphics are only slightly better than they were in Sam & Max Hit the Road and Day of the Tentacle (the company's latest additions to this category), Full Throttle does feature 3-D rendered objects on its familiar jagged and blocky screens.

Although many gamers have criticized this title as being too short, Full Throttle's amusing story and well-developed characters make this shortcoming easy to overlook. I am eagerly awaiting a sequel.

The game was nonstop fun! I was very pleased with both the graphics and the sound. The only noticeable drawbacks were that the puzzles could have been a little more challenging and the game could have been longer.

It's a fun well flowing game with little to no frustrating parts that would suit people new to the point and click adventure series looking for something simple to test the water with and it makes a nice leisurely game for any seasoned player.

Along the way, you're treated to a terrific soundtrack from biker band Gone Jackals, some bracing chopper-to-chopper combat scenes (imagine Street Fighter II on wheels), and clever deadpan humor. On the whole, Full Throttle is heavier on strategy than action — but if it's action you wanted, you'd be riding a real Harley, wouldn't you?

D'une réalisation en tout point impeccable, Full Throttle est un jeu d'aventure drôle, très plaisant et qui décoiffe. On en veut encore !

All in all, Full Throttle is a good, though flawed, adventure game, full of character and atmosphere. An experienced gamer familiar with the genre can play through it in about 6 hours, the majority of which will be spent enjoying puzzles rather being frustrated by them. Full Throttle can be credited as among the few classic games that have worked to raise the bar on storytelling and production quality in adventure games, a bar that Tim Schafer goes on to raise again 3 years later with Grim Fandango.

Während Full Throttle somit das ideale Programm ist, um Computerspektiker eines besseren zu belehren, dürfte sich mancher Spieleveteran veräppelt vorkommen. Man sollte sich gut überlegen, ob einem das kurze, aber spannende Biker-Abenteuer das Geld wert ist. Ich meine: Ja! Denn nach einem guten Kinofilm ärgere ich mich schließlich auch nicht, wenn die Zeit wie im Flug vergangen ist.

Full Throttle isn’t the worst, or the best, graphical adventure out there. Lucas Arts has pumped out so many of the blasted things that you can probably find something else from them that you’d rather play, but if you do manage to pick this game up it’s not a total loss. My recommendation is that FT is for those gamers seeking to own every Lucas Arts title ever made or for those looking for a low budget midlife crisis. To all others, consider yourself warned.

Nicht umsonst ist Tim Schäfer einer der Stars im Adventure-Bereich. Mit einem Roadmovie im Comic-Stil ist es ihm wieder gelungen, ein originelles Spiel zu produzieren, welches es in der Form sicher noch nicht gegeben hat und sich alleine daher von der hohen Anzahl der damals erschienen Adventures abhebte. Das Spiel lebt sehr stark von seiner Geschichte, denn die Story ist wirklich extrem spannend und wird noch einmal durch den rasanten Handlungsablauf vorangetrieben.

Gerade LucasArts ist für die Spieltiefe seiner Adventures bekannt. Wer sich für rund 100 Mark Monkey Island, Indiana Jones oder Sam & Max anschaffte, konnte sicher sein, daß er etliche Tage mit der Lösung des Adventures beschäftigt sein würde. Dessen sollte man sich bei LucasArts eigentlich auch bewußt sein. In Anbetracht der fast lächerlichen Spieltiefe und der Puzzles auf eher unterem Niveau darf man fragen, ob das Skript zu Vollgas überhaupt an den bisherigen Hits des Herstellers gemessen wurde.

Die Story von rauhbeinigen Rockern und gelackten Bösewichtern fesselt nicht nur Motorradfans. In Sachen Rätseldichte ist Vollgas aber das nach Loom schwächste LucasArts- Adventure. Für Einsteiger ist es empfehlenswert, Profis sollten sich auf ein kurzes, aber recht intensives Spielerlebnis einstellen.

Full Throttle es una gran aventura en comparación con las actuales y las de unos años hacia aquí, pero la sombra de las otra aventuras de LucasArts es muy grande y logra eclipsar a esta. Sin embargo, no todos los días encarnamos a un duro motero, y la música es ideal y perfecta y, en resumen, es un título ameno, divertido y agradable de jugar.

In conclusion, if you enjoy talking to fluffy woodland creatures and slaying dragons, Full Throttle is probably best avoided; certainly the appeal of a game that is bleak, dark and edgy isn’t universal. The major criticism of Full Throttle is its short length – indeed, simplistic puzzles mean the plot unfolds at a breathtaking pace. Although the quality of immersion is excellent, it is somewhat transient, no doubt leaving many feeling short-changed. In the end, though, the intrigue and originality of the story make it a very important adventure game for all fans of the genre.

Any new LucasArts adventure is always eagerly anticipated and Full Throttle is no exception despite the limited appeal of its theme with its romanticised notion of biker existence. The graphics, particularly in the cut-scenes, have the unmistakable LucasArts quality that we have come to expect but, unfortunately, the game is let down by the limited amount of interaction and problem solving involved. The whole game can be played through in just a few hours and that includes watching the seemingly endless credits roll through to the bitter end. Not what I would call value for money, but others may disagree.

LucasArts based the world of Full Throttle in a bleak industrialised future around an enigmatic anti-hero, with an original and compelling story. Ben Whatsisname, leader of outlawed biker gang the Polecats, is soon embroiled in a devious executive’s corporate ambitions, and forced to clear his name against a backdrop of murder, betrayal and lots and lots of motorbikes.

It should be already obvious it's an utterly disappointing affair, yet disappointment is also caused by high expectations. You can't blame a game for coming from a company which usually does way better. And, as mentioned somewhere along the way, the game does have a certain edge in its storytelling (as stupid as the story may be) and audiovisual techniques.

For those of you teetering on the edge of silicon obsolescence you might want to think twice before purchase. While the hardware requirements are not the most stringent out there, the Full Throttle experience requires a 486/33 machine with a 2X CD-ROM that's MPC2 compliant (i.e. some of the cheaper 2X CD-ROM drives might give you sound and picture skips) Finally, the kicker is that you're gonna need 8Meg of RAM. It's a good excuse to upgrade though.
