WindowsTech with Kids (Computing with Kids)
Kids can take it to the hoop with the Backyard Bunch (an endearing group of cartoon kids) and kid versions of pro-athletes Kevin Garnett and Lisa Leslie in this newest addition to the award-winning “Backyard Sports” series. Kids draft players and act as managers for their own 3-on-3 teams. Easy to use point-and-click controls allow even the youngest hoopsters to enjoy playing basketball on the computer.
All of that is great. The problem comes with the game's control scheme. You use the mouse to move players, shoot, defend, and rebound, but sometimes the game is difficult to control with the mouse. For instance, we repeatedly violated the five-second rule when attempting to in-bound the ball because we couldn't click one of our moving teammates fast enough. This leads to a lot of frustration (good thing you can't get a technical foul for yelling profanities at the computer). As you might guess, not being able to even get the ball in play, along with other difficult control issues, really put a damper on the fun.
