GT Advance Championship Racing

Advance GTA, c'est un peu le début d'une nouvelle génération de simulation de course sur portable. De ce fait il est très délicat de noter ce type de jeu puisqu'à par le décevant F-Zero Advance et le très conventionnel All Japan GT Championship, il n'y a pas de quoi le situer. Ses qualités sont nombreuses, mais les capacités de la Game Boy Advance ne sont pas complètement exploitées, ce qui laisse présager de futurs grands hits en préparation. Un grand pas en avant dont on attend impatiemment la suite !

GT Advance is a slick racing game that puts the gas to adrenaline-charged competition. And, except for the sounds, this little cart is feature rich. You can run 40 cars from eight Japanese auto companies, including Honda, Toyota, and Nissan, and more, on 32 tracks.

GT Advance is visually considered decent, with nothing spectacular; but what you would expect from a racer trying to be 3-D. The menus and models of the cars are very nicely done, easy to navigate and extremely polished. In game the cars look a bit pixelized, and a little too flat but overall they’re well done. The actual racing track itself resembles a F-Zero feel, with more realistic racetrack settings. Sometimes the game feels a bit floaty, but overall it’s a fun racing experience. The audio is nothing to gloat or groan about. Your basic bleepy tunes, and standard engine sounds.

Un jeu de course sympathique et crédible sur GBA puisqu'il dispose d'un très bon gameplay et d'une réalisation graphique soignée, sa durée de vie enfin lui permet de très bien se situer dans une catégorie où la concurrence n'est pas féroce cela dit.

It's really a shame that THQ opted to adopt a password feature instead of the battery-save option, because it has added a lot of hassle to what would otherwise be a very fun game. Those of you who can afford to spend a few extra dollars for the Japanese version of the game should do so, since the menus are entirely in English--plus, there's no lockout feature to keep Japanese games from playing on US Game Boy Advance units.

Gillar man seriösa bilspel är GT Advance: Championship Racing ett schysst men kortlivat val. Kanske det beror på att de lättsammare racingspelen gör sig bättre på konsolen?

Johnny down the street's gonna get Fire Pro Wrestling. Suzy can't wait for Super Mario Advance, and Tyrone will be jamming on Tony Hawk 2. These titles will take their owners to new handheld lands and beyond. GT Advance has solid roots, but they'll never make you leave the ground.
