www.nintendo.com – Game Boy Color:

Ride like the Condor on Game Boy Color.

Following the incredible success of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Activision has been expanding its sports line-up with games based on other extreme athletic endeavors. They've also been busy signing contracts with the biggest names in these adrenalin-based sports. Shaun Palmer is on board for Pro Snowboarder, and they inked Kelly Slater to endorse Pro Surfer. For BMX, the choice was undoubtedly a simple one. Who better to grace the cover of Pro BMX than 10-time world vert champion Mat Hoffman?

The Game Boy Color version of Pro BMX is one of the better bike-based sports games on GBC. The game is stocked with hundreds of tricks, including signature moves for each of the eight real-world riders. The trick system is logical, so after a quick trip through Training Mode you should be busting back-to-back flares like DMC.

The organization of Pro BMX is similar to the original Pro Skater. In Career Mode, your goal is to collect Magazine Covers by completing specific objectives. These tasks range from earning high scores to collecting various icons throughout each course. As your Magazine Cover collection grows, you can unlock new levels. A nice variety of street, vert and dirt courses are eventually accessible.

    Superstar riders include:

    Mat "Condor" Hoffman
    Cory Nastazio
    Simon Tabron
    Dennis "DMC" McCoy
    Kevin Robinson
    Rick Thorne
    Mike "Rooftop" Escamilla
    Joe "Butcher" Kowalski

If you can't rock 540s in real life (or even if you can), Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX is a great way to get some riding in even if you're miles from a bike.

www.nintendo.com - Game Boy Advance:
Seven pro riders join 10-time World Vert champion Mat "Condor" Hoffman in Activision's tribute to topsy-turvy two-wheeling.

Developer Hotgen Studios has crammed in eight street, dirt and vert courses. A tutorial will help you get started. In Career mode, you garner covers and medals to unlock new courses.

Tough judges in Tournament mode will knock down your point total for excessive bailing and sticking to one area of a course. It doesn't help that you're competing against seven of the world's greatest BMX riders.

Free Ride lets you get the feel of unlocked courses. Time Trial mode sets you off on a cross-country dirt track. You can earn precious seconds by pulling great tricks.

Two players with two GBAs, two Game Paks and a GBA Game Link cable can go head-to-head in a multiplayer mode. These include Versus, a score-based competition; Bomb; an explosive variant on tag; Star Hunt; a fast-moving treasure hunt; and Tug-O-War, in which the goal is to pull of the biggest tricks in the least amount of time.

Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX for the Game Boy Advance is available now. The game is rated "E" for Everyone.
