Universal Interactive and developer Digital Eclipse heat up the small screen in Spyro 2: Season of Flame.

    More Than An Old Flame

As the title implies, Season of Flame is the direct sequel to Universal Interactive's initial GBA offering, Spyro the Dragon: Season of Ice. This time around, Spyro and friends must recover the stolen fireflies that fuel the fiery breath of all the dragons in the Dragon Realms.

Being a dragon himself, Spyro also suffers from a lack of flame. Replacing his normally heated breath is a new ice attack that offers unique advantages. For example, certain spots of water can be frozen. Spyro can then reach formerly inaccessible areas.

Spyro must explore the game's 25 immense levels to locate the 100 missing fireflies. As with the original game, Season of Flame takes place from a three-quarters viewpoint.

    New Faces

Unlike his previous adventure, Spyro now has a pair of helpers to accompany him on his journey. Sheila, a kangaroo, opens up new levels of 3D game play inspired by the arcade classic Q-Bert. Agent 9, a monkey, adds side-scrolling shooting levels to the mix.

Everything looks and sounds like a cartoon with colorfully animated characters and backgrounds. Even little things like gems and power-ups seem to have a life of their own.

    Season of Fun

Offering plenty of puzzles and platforming, Spyro 2: Season of Flame is a hot package that shouldn't be missed!
