Time to shed light on the darkness.

Wherever Duel Monsters tournaments go, trouble seems to follow. Konami follows up 2003's Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards with Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef Of Destruction, an RPG with plenty of playing-card dueling.

The famed Yu-Gi-Oh! duelists must stop Reshef, The Dark Being, before he turns the Earth into his sandbox of chaos and destruction. To build your card collection and gain experience points, you will duel more than 100 players in locales all over the world.

    Features

    • More than 800 unique cards including all three Egyptian god cards
    • Sequel to Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards

You play as Marky, a young duelist trying to gain experience points. Marky and veteran duelists Joey Wheeler and Yugi are waiting to board the Duel Express train for a duel tournament. But they discover that the Millennium Puzzle and other Millennium items have been stolen and Reshef has re-emerged from banishment. You must guide the trio as they duel their way to battle Reshef and save the world.

Much like The Sacred Cards, your home base is Clock Tower Square. However, in this Yu-Gi-Oh! installment, you'll travel to different locales to search for the Millennium items. Along the way, Marky talks to many characters and duels plenty of opponents.

As in The Sacred Cards, you may edit your Duel Monsters deck with cards you have purchased or won in duels. Although the basic aspects of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game are re-created just fine, the gameplay isn't as deep as what you'd find in Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004.

    Bottom Line

If you liked The Sacred Cards, you'll enjoy Reshef Of Destruction. Experienced Yu-Gi-Oh! card players might find the game's duels to be too basic, but beginner to intermediate players will enjoys hours of dueling and searching for the missing pieces of the puzzle.
