102 Dalmations comes highly recommended for youngsters of all ages. While it is not pure adventure, it is a nice mix of nonviolent action and simplified puzzle solving. Now if only Jacob will show me what he did to beat the darn game ...

So far we have made 102 Dalmations sound like an action game, but in truth it is much more of an adventure since each level must be meticulously explored, enemies must be lured into traps, and the environment must be manipulated to gain entrance to hidden levels and out-of-reach areas

Targeted for younger players, 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue exhibits great and healthy play that parents may be proud of. Similarly, no blood or gore, easy controls, and doggy-fun make 102 Dalmatians perfect for the beginning gamer. Nonetheless, its easy moves, simple theme, and tedious gameplay will drive the larger {and again, older} gaming population away, as saving your puppy relatives presents no challenges and quickly bores the players. If you're a puppy lover or 102 Dalmatians fan, try your hand at it. But please, only a rent.

Einfach putzig! Liebe Eltern, wenn ihr noch verzweifelt nach einem idealen Spiel für eure Kinder im Grundschulalter sucht, dann wählt '102 Dalmatiner'. Klasse Präsentation, eingängige Steuerung, Minispiele für zwischendurch, und so weiter. Bisher fiel es mir schwer, Kinderspiele zu bewerten, weil sie mir keinen Spaß machten und ich dachte, es läge an mir. Aber dieses Spiel hat mich wirklich zum Daddeln verleitet - und das richtig lange, mit Leib und Seele - obwohl es für mich zu leicht ist und ich mit den Dalmatinern nichts anfangen kann. Aber was spricht mehr für ein Jump and Run für Kinder als ein einfacher Schwierigkeitsgrad und niedliche Protagonisten?

102 Dalmatians is fluff, and perhaps one of its greatest qualities is that it's not a necessary play -- no Sega fan can get away with skipping Sonic Shuffle even though it's a clunker, but nobody will ever ask on a message board if you've conquered 102 yet. It's for your brother, your sister, your mom, your girlfriend... It's a game that strives not for a great experience or incredible emotions or revolutionary control -- all this pup wants to do is make somebody smile. Maybe even giggle.

Die Dalmatiner-Filme sind nicht so ganz mein Ding, doch das Spiel macht durchaus Laune. Da die Levels allesamt nicht allzu schwer sind, hat man genügend Zeit, immer wieder etwas Neues zu entdecken. Grafisch gefällt mir 102 Dalmatiner allerdings weniger: Standardtexturen in einer simplen Umwelt erinnern an Playstation-Kost. Fast schon gewohnt positiv fällt die tolle Synchronisierung auf. 102 Dalmatiner ist durch seine versteckten Extras auch für Erwachsene interessant.

Niedlichkeitsfaktor: extrem hoch. Wer schon mal den einen oder anderen Disney-Film gesehen hat, der weiß ja, dass mit Emotionen und süßen Bildchen nicht gerade gespart wird. So kommt natürlich auch das Spiel in der typisch-putzigen Aufmachung daher. Jüngere Spieler mögen sich dafür begeistern, zumal auch der Schwierigkeitsgrad auf sie zugeschnitten wurde. Wenn Sie das nicht stört, dann ärgern Sie sich dafür über die schlechte Kameraführung, den sehr simplen Spielablauf und die magere 3D-Grafik. Zwar sind Geschicklichkeitsspiele auf dem PC rar, trotzdem sollten Sie besser zu fähigeren Genre-Titeln wie etwa Rayman 2 greifen.

Crystal Dynamics gives the old Gex engine one last run for the money with this barely tolerable action/platformer. In fact, 102 Dalmatians is basically Gex minus the sarcasm, plus a whole bunch of cute puppies. If you're in the mood for a Disney game, I strongly recommend Emperor’s New Groove, which at least had the sense to rip off a classic, Spyro the Dragon. Still, very young gamers might find this somewhat amusing. I didn’t.

Für Kids ist 102 Dalmatiner aufgrund seiner knuffigen Figuren und des moderaten Schwierigkeitsgrades eine sehr gute Wahl.

Im Fell der Welpen Nullpunkt (im Kinofilm Oddball genannt) und Domino bellen, tollen und schnuppern Sie sich durch 20 Orte, wie Regents Park und Big Ben, um gefangene Baby-Tölen aus den Fängen der pelzgierigen Cruella deVil zu befreien.

Sympathique mais sans plus : c'est ce que l'on retiendra de cette adaptation sur PC du film de Disney. Doté d'une architecture simple, d'une prise en main rapide et de graphismes 3D corrects, Les 102 Dalmatiens ne surprendra pourtant jamais par une quelconque forme d'originalité. Clairement, le but n'était pas ici de concurrencer un Rayman 2, mais plutôt de s'adresser exclusivement au plus jeune des publics. Si effectivement c'était le but, la mission est alors réussie.

102 Dalmatians is mildly amusing, but the whimsical musical score and childish dialogue did start to wear thin on me after a while. Plus, the dog lip-syncing was way off (don't you hate that?). 102 Dalmatians is very easy and a little slow, but it's thoughtfully constructed and looks great. Bump up the grade by one letter if you're under 10.

This is what makes reviewing this game difficult. It isn't going to set the pants alight of most modern gamers - it's just too simple. However, it's a great game for a five-year-old who worships Disney. It's a nice little yarn with cute but simple-looking levels and characters, plus some great little extras to keep you entertained. It has loads of hidden games in the levels to mix up the fun too - like flying a Pterodactyl or riding fairground rides - and, as mentioned before, there are some quality separate mini-games to collect as well. This is an accomplished package to give to a Disney kid but, even though it's cheerful enough to make your stupid grinning mouth fall off, there's not enough of a game here to make it worthwhile for grown-up kids. Fun for the nippers, then!

The game gets the C rating due to its overwhelming childish style, yet the game is more enjoyable than you would think. Take it for a spin and see if you still have a little of that Disney magic left in you. I guess I'm still just a kid at heart.

The difficulty level is aimed at young children; adults will find it far too easy for enjoyment. Most enemies are more comical than dangerous, and the game is readily forgiving of mistakes; don't expect to find bottomless pits or hidden traps. Graphically, the game does not push the Dreamcast; the textures are blocky and seem better suited on the Playstation. Aurally, the game shows promise, especially in voice-over sequences that constantly interrupt gameplay. Not recommended for anyone who has undergone puberty.
